They gave my mom an infection and now will not let me visit or care for her. Avoid this place if you want to stay alive. Go to St Pat's.

Poor behavior at Bitterroot HealthDr. Megan Metcalf does not care about patient safety or consent. Certainly she doesn't care about accuracy of diagnosis. I asked for help with my health, and was violated and labeled mentally ill for my trouble. The mental illness misdiagnosis was quietly slipped into my chart and was not discussed with me at all. This resulted in poor and biased care from the next provider, Kathrine Dexter. Both of these medical providers refuse to think my case through, and will not remove the misdiagnosis. I provided a signed note from a mental health care professional stating that I do not meet the criteria for this misdiagnosis, but they still refuse to remove it.I filed a complaint with Patient Relations months ago and gave the hospital every opportunity to address this appropriately. After months of voicemails and emails to Patient Relations being ignored, I finally got through via Corporate Compliance. The end result of their "investigation" was a letter basically stating that they have investigated themselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing. Of course. Patient relations isn't there for the patient. They are there to protect the hospital and its employees from the consequence of their own misconduct. I have now filed a complaint with the state. Also, do not trust Bitterroot Health to bill your insurance correctly. The Gynecology Department has been especially problematic, insisting that they are a specialty clinic and that they are entitled to higher co-pays because of it. Even after checking with billing and insurance, and correcting them several times, they continued to claim they were a specialty clinic. Gynecology is basic care. We are working with Billing to get all of this fixed, and to their credit, they are doing what they can for us. I will say that throughout this very stressful time, the Records Department was the only department I did not have a negative experience with. They were always polite and did their best for me.Update:Shortly after my complaint was reviewed by the state, I received a letter from Bitterroot Health. I have been fired as a patient. Their Gynecology Department will no longer provide services to me. They waited until after my case was reviewed to retaliate. Corrupt as ever. Patient relations has also violated HIPPA by sending another patient's letter to my address. Mira McMasters called me to ask for it back. I returned this letter to their Records Department. Well done Bitterroot Health!

Worst experience ever tonight I’m super sick was not even looked at had labs done and was sent home in 10/10 pain with the response there’s nothing wrong with you, given a prescription I could not even fill tonight, no after care instructions or who to call to get a better doctor for my situation. The dr never even came back in after he said he would. Will be taking my business to an other hospital. Would rather die getting to Missoula than to have someone from this hospital help me or my family again.

It's crazy to see all these 1 star reviews as I lay in bed in the south wing after a low back surgery. I've had problems with accounting many times but that was years ago. As far as care goes all the staff I have incountered have been professional, nice, caring and met my needs as expected. Dr day did the surgery and so far 4 days later everything has gone well. The nursing staff have been awesome. Jane, misty,Bailey, Mikaela, and all the rest I can't remember have been excellent! Totally helping and encouraging me through this recovery..God bless you all cuz this job ain't easy!!

I had to get labs drawn and my veins are extremely hard to draw, even with ultrasound locator assistance, so I typically get stuck anywhere from 4-9 times with several staff giving it a try. Phlebotomist Tawni did a wonderful job getting a vein on the first stick and she was very gentle and kind on top of it!! There was another person in there who helped but I can't remember her name. I'm very thankful to both of you!!

This hospital is horrible. My Mom had been in the emergency room and was transfered to St Pats due to a bad fall and broken bones in her face. She was released from Missoula 2 days ago and they were wonderful. Today, she was tested for Covid and was positive. She has stage 4 cancer and a head trauma so, I called Marcus Daly for advice and the nurse on duty told me they don’t give out advice on the phone?. I told them that I was reading from their paperwork that we can call any time if we have questions. Guess what ?!? YOU CANT ! This nurse was rude, uncaring and told me that if I thought it was an emergency to bring her in, if not then don’t ?. This is completely unacceptable for a hospital in out town.

I was on staff here and had a medical procedure. When a diagnosis was discovered in the operating room they suddenly terminated my employment. Then they breached HIPAA and faxed my personal medical results to my primary employer. Add insult to injury - my primary care doctor is on maternity leave and the provider covering for her is horrendous. This place is so dangerous. The ER staff is wonderful but the care isn’t consistent at the facility.

My mother was in the process of having a stroke. She went to the ER twice - upon the second visit she could hardly walk. (The visits were 2 days apart). She was brought in by the ambulance. Upon seeing her Dr. McHugh asked, “why are you here again?” Ran tests, referred her to her outpatient provider (who she could not get into for days) and sent her home in the ambulance where they carried her back up the stairs and put her in her chair. She COULD NOT walk to go to the outpatient visit. He nor the hospital provided a referral for a home health evaluation. You can’t get a referral for a home health evaluation unless you have a face to face visit with a provider. Huh - how was this supposed to happen when she could not walk to see her provider face to face when he had JUST seen her? This was complete laziness and poor treatment of the elderly. So disgusted and disappointed with any care from Bitterroot Health. I want to know how this policy can be changed. Make a referral from the ER. Other hospitals do.

We had a five star experience with the ER and surgical team after my husband needed an emergency appendectomy - everyone was wonderful and very skilled. Dr. Channer is awesome!Afterwards we went to the front desk to ask billing questions, however, and I would rate that experience two stars. The older woman answering our questions was not very kind or compassionate, and made us feel small for our ignorance when it came to insurance issues.

First, I love the clinical staff. However, I was billed for a ct scan that never happened. They couldn’t provide any evidence in my medical record that it was performed, but took me to small claims court anyway. Then paid a lawyer to do what lawyers do.Check your bills

The insurance/billing department improperly billed my insurance and was super unhelpful in getting the issue resolved. I asked to speak with a supervisor to help resolve the issue and was told “they didn't have one”. Thankfully my insurance company was willing to fight on my behalf, otherwise I would be stuck with a $6800 bill.

If you are in pain DO NOT COME HERE! Go to missoula where they will actually treat you!!! I recommend community hospital. Came in on a Saturday with the most intense tooth pain one can imagine. It appears to be an infection. I drove something like 50 miles round trip because I'm in so much pain that I can't hardly function. All I can do is rock back and forth and cry. Ibuprofen and Tylenol has done NOTHING to ease my constant torture. Doc said he will do nothing for the pain and to see a dentist and prescribed a antibiotic. They wouldn't help me. Never again. These people care NOTHING for you.
