While my truck was waiting overnight for service the adjustable aluminum trailer hitch went missing. I was told it should of had a lock on it and the owner would think about some kind of compensation. That was two months ago. Bye bye M and M, not like it was when his dad was running the place.

Great service, great communication! I gave them the description of what was wrong, they diagnosed it, let me know what was found and they repaired it. I will be back when I need their help again. BTW, the rates charged were fair and honest too.

My 71 Chevy 4x4 was in dire need of a tune up and had no kickdown bracket. The truck would not accelerate up hill due to the kick down cable not being hooked into a bracket. The truck also did not have a parking pawl rod and would not lock into park. Took it to M&M. They rebuilt the carburetor and returned the truck to me. The truck was running horribly, missing, stumbling. They never resolved the parking pawl issue. I took the truck back to M&M and they said they could not resolve the issue and told me I had to get my own kick down bracket and cable. They apparently had no idea how to resolve the kick down transmission issue or parking pawl rod issue. I took the truck to a great experienced mechanic in Missoula who found the points were fried, Distributor cap damaged, spark plugs damaged, spark plug wires cracked and old, they tuned the truck, hooked up the kick down cable, repaired the parking pawl rod, and the TRUCK RUNS GREAT! M&M is worthless. Had the truck at M&M two times and they could not figure out that the truck needed a simple tune up and simple transmission repair. M&M staff are very nice people, but totally inept at working on simple classic trucks.

Super busy as always but when they got to me it was well worth the wait. They addressed all my issues and gave me lead times on a couple things I'll want them to fix later. Great team at M&M. Thank You.

Last year I got a "check engine" light on my Subaru, so M&M being close, and having chatted with Michael a few times I took the car to them. After several days the mechanic said he'd determined the problem and that it was a bad ECU, the main computer and that they couldn't fix that, a dealer would have to do the work of programming a new one, about $1000 job! Well, we were doing good to pay the $300 plus job, which was just for the diagnosis. OK, but I had been told before that cars don't run with a bad ECU. Fortunately it ran fine, just some of the features like cruise didn't work. So after saving the money for the fix we started trying to arrange a appt with Subaru in Missoula. After 4 failed attempts, we ran out of time, with a upcoming trip to Portland to see friends. So I thought that I would call my "old mechanic" in Portland to see what he could do. He asked for codes, which he said had nothing to do with the ECU! He said "I don't work mondays, but bring it in and I'll make an exception for you". So I dropped it off, checked the next day and he said: All ready to go. Was just an oxygen sensor, nothing to do with the ECM, and only about $350! So hmmm, what did I give more than that to M&M, plus no car for several days, for a "false diagnosis"? So I spent about 2 weeks trying to get hold of Michael at M&M, since the claim to have a guarantee. Finally he called me and basically he just attacked me as some kind of trouble maker trying to get my money back! So much for the "nice guy" front. So do I recommend them, no. Two things are obvious: One, some of their mechanics make pretty big mistakes, not sure how often, but it was 100% in my case. Two, they don't stand behind their "guarantee" and Mike will make sure you don't ask again. Did I see the real Mike, not sure but he was real talking to me on the phone. So actually I guess there is a third thing: The customer is never right! So in my case it was bad work, no guarantee and a really bad attitude directed at me. Hey, I'm just a lowly customer, well, was. According to Mike I'm a really bad trouble maker. Ya, that's it, I'm just out to make trouble. Touchy!
