“My first time buying anything here, I was buying two 16’ fence rails to fix a fence for a senior, after a storm took a branch off of a tree and smashed it. The fence was important for keeping the owner’s pets in the yard. The other place which sold fence rails wanted well over $100 to deliver the same two rails. Don’s delivered them for free, the same day I purchased them. Thank you Don’s for helping me fix the storm damage in a manner affordable to someone on a fixed income!! “We decided to take on the project of turning our 1980’s horrible basement into an Irish pub and we knew it would take a lot of paint. I turned to Sherwin Williams in Hamilton for help. We had multiple surfaces; a wood (exposed beam) ceiling, sheet rock walls, concrete floors, metal ducting, and PVC wainscotting to paint. With neither of us being contractors, nor seasoned DIYers, we knew we had to rely on the knowledge of others. I am so grateful we decided to skip the hardware stores and go straight to the experts!
Prior to even buying any paint, I went in and picked their brains about how to calculate how many gallons I’d need, what types to use, application, colors, and on and on. These guys took the time to really explain everything and get me all set up to start our project. They let me take home one of the master fan decks (paint chip samples) to help me decide on colors. They even called around to other stores to try and get the color formula for one of the shades I originally wanted. These guys really went above and beyond! Over the next few months, I was there almost every other weekend getting paint and supplies for each stage of our project. Some of the guys became somewhat invested in and curious of the “pub project” and I shared pics of the progress each time.
I know they deal with a lot of contractors & professionals and taking the time to help me like they did was more than expected. I truly appreciate all the assistance, patience, and great customer service. Yes, the paint can sometimes cost more than your “box store” brands, but I so glad I spent the little extra. I also would watch for sales and used coupons through their app. Everything turned out beautiful! The different gloss levels are true to description, coverage is great, colors are spot on and rich, and so far, it’s all been holding up great to wear and tear.
