“Listen, as a female I get treated, generally, like I don't know what I want or what I am talking about at the gun counters around here and most places honestly. My experience at almost all other retailers in town have been negative with them either straight ignoring me, talking down to me, smiling at their coworkers when they think I can't see them, speaking to my husband while Im speaking to them, ect. ITS UNREAL. As someone who buys one to two new guns minimum a year It gets really old and frustrating. A typical gun buying experience for me involved a LOT of anxiety and anger about how I was going to get treated and typically left other gun counters extremely upset and unsatisfied. I would shop with my husband to try and avoid being talked down to our completely ignored.When I went to the Helena Sportsmans gun counter The guys there where just a great group of experienced individuals who respect and valued me not only as a customer but as a person. I can go in there and they treat me like any other "guy" at the counter, EVERYTIME! We share stories, tips, and tricks. It's like buying a gun from an old friend and having good conversation while you do the paperwork (if they arn't too busy). They do not ever speak down to me or over me. When my husband is present they do not turn to him. They even engage and encourage my 10 year old daughter who had been hunting with me since she was 3. She loves the guys at the counter and is excited to take photos back to them of her WINS! I will not buy a gun from anywhere else. EVERY gun retailer should train and encourage their staff to treat women with respect. I highly recommend, as a women, the gun counter at Sportsmans Warehouse here in Helena.”
