I typically visit Helena Goodwill a couple times a week. On the occasion I find an item that isn't priced or the price is no longer on the item. I take the item to the back and one of the workers gets the item priced for me. Today I had a bad experience. I took the unpriced item to the back and the manager of the store just happened to be passing by, I showed her the item and instead of repricing it, making a sale, and sending on my way, she said some people remove the prices trying to get a better deal. I said well I didn't remove the price and just wanted it priced so I could purchase it. She said she wanted to go to lunch and took the item from me and put it back on the shelf to be repriced at a later time. Told me item might be back out before the end of the day. Thanks for making me feel like a thief and sending me on my way.

Prices are rising by the week. Any quality items never make it to the floor and are shipped out to be sold on eBay, which is why I was shocked to find a Carhartt jacket the other day. It was very dirty and the cashier asked the manager why it hadn't been cleaned and more so why it hadn't been shipped off. Quality items never make it to the floor at this Goodwill. Turns out it was concrete or mortar permanently glued on. That's why they didn't send it off. Tried to pass it off to some sucker. This is no different with their electronics. None are tested. Anything with a semi name brand regardless of condition is jacked up to near retail price. Sad

It's Goodwill. I mean they taken your donated goods, inflate a price and tell you the proceeds go to help pay the miserable wages of handicapped or less fortunate people. As of late there are 3 people that work in there that are more pleasant than most I've dealt with. The store is usually pretty clean. Stock varies, but not often enough. I think the store could use a revamp on its layout to have a better flow to it. (and yes, I could do that if necessary) just seems so cold and uninviting. prices are so inconsistent on misc items, toys and Bagged items. All in all its nice to go in and walk around at times. Still cheaper than new if you find something you want

If you can, donate your items to another thrift store, like Big Sky Thrift or Good Samaritan. I’ve known for a while that Goodwill will comb through donations and any popular or high value items will be sent to an outlet or listed online (I mostly just relied on the fact that whoever is in charge has bad taste so you’d still find some cool items) but what I experienced last time I went was horrible.I found a cute little solo Pyrex dish marked at $4.99 (which is honestly what they sell for online anyway). When I got to the checkout counter, a female employee says “Wow, you’re not supposed to have this! This wasn’t supposed to be put out!” and begrudgingly finishes checking me out. Before I go, she proudly tells me how a couple weeks prior an employee got in trouble with managers/bosses at the store for accidentally setting out a complete set of vintage Pyrex in a popular color and pricing it how GW always prices glassware, and then rambles about how much they make when they list them online.99% of the donated items we see are the bottom of the barrel - damaged or dirty/stained. It’s a gross way to go about things and there are much better organizations in town to donate to, ones that *actually* support and give back to the community, and give your donated items a new life! Not here though.

I was unable to add a comment directly on Good Will Helena's website to agree with several other customers who criticized the store's staff attitudes and the prices. I HAVE A SOLUTION! Go out to the National Guard Thrift Store at the VA location. The volunteers there are joyful, helpful and fun and you can cram clothes into a hand basket and spend $1 for the whole thing! There is a separate building for everything else in the world other than the clothes I mentioned. The only down side is that they are open only on Thursdays from 10 to 5. You have to go through the guarded entrance and show them your ID.

A little while ago my friend and I went to this location store, my friend saw a cute ceramic dog statue with fall decor on it, she wanted it but didn’t see a price tag ANYWHERE on the item. When we went to check out; a young lady had sighed seeing us, took one look and said “I can’t sell you this cause there is no price tag” she sounded and looked rude when she said that to my friend; so we paid for the items we could buy and left. The next day, my friend came by the store again with one of her friends, and she saw the item she wasn’t able to purchase due to ‘NO PRICE TAG’ and she looked at the ceramic item on the same shelf and saw NO PRICE TAG on it again. If there is no price tag on an item it should not be on a shelf, if there is no price tag on item and it is on a shelf and someone wants to purchase that item, then the employee should get their supervisor and discuss further. PUT PRICE TAGS ON ITEMS THAT DON’T HAVE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. And maybe your employees shouldn’t be giving a rude-tude when customers are approaching to check out the items they want, cause the young lady we had was a bit unprofessional in both tone and attitude.

Descent selection, reasonably clean but the prices were just ridiculous. This is a thrift store, with no overhead on product, charging what things would sell for on ebay.

Not a bad thrift store, clean, employees friendly, priced fair. The thing I notice is the mens room stall is a texting booth for hiding employees. Think I'm kidding, check it out :). Would not be so bad if they had two stalls.

Super frustrated at the Helena in a Goodwill I waited in line so long while this older little bit heavy set gal with glasses stood they're talking for almost 15 minutes while six of us were waiting in line forever to pay for our items and then the top it off while snooping at some odds and ends I noticed this short blonde lady who later I found out happened to be the main manager there at Goodwill was bewiddling her employees out in the open of the store for all the customers to watch that poor staff get humiliated why she down talk them and the attitude of that lady OMG I think somebody said her name was Lori I cannot believe Goodwill would let this happen to their employees used to be such a great place to go shopping for neat little knick knacks and odds and ends.

Some of their pricing is not consistent. One bath towel 2.99 another one just like it 5.99 a lot of stuff in the store is priced that way. It is confusing

I've bought clothes from Good Will so far and also donated something. I really liked Good Will shop because they organized things well and I've never had any problem with any smell. But at this time, I bought some clothes, when arriving at home I smelled the rose perfume sooooo strongly from clothes!. I even washed them, hopefully the smell would be gone but NOT!!! It was stuck perfectly!!! I have a headache with strong smell perfume. Surprisingly when I picked them up at store, I didn't have that weird smell. Otherwise I'd not buy them!

I had a very frustrating experience. When I was in line to pay for my items there was a cashier who was having a very long conversation with a customer even after he was finished with the transaction. There was at least 8 people waiting in line. Eventually the customer just left even though the cashier wanted to continue to talk. I felt like he was very inconsiderate to the other customers. While I was waiting in line I overheard him say that he was a supervisor. I would expect a supervisor to have more consideration for customers. Eventually I made it to the front of the line and was helped by a different cashier who was prompt and nice. In times past I have not had good experiences with several goodwill employees. It also seems like they are a bit overpriced compared to other thrift stores in town. I hope they can resolve these issues. I wouldn’t recommend shopping here.
