Bud is a wonderful, knowledgeable man. The Helena area is blessed he stays open! This man is elderly and doesn't always get to the door or phone immediately. Non locals need to be patient and the shop is seasonal

My wife and I went there on a Friday afternoon after driving over an hour. No one was there, place was closed with no one around. Granted it was Friday at 4ish but the web site says 8-5 weekdays. I was unimpressed to say the least after hurrying to get there in time.

The prospector shop is the greatest store of its kind in the Helena area. The guy behind the counter is quite simply an incredible dude. What he's got between his ears with regard 2 gold mining is priceless.
