We have banked here since our arrival to Montana 2013. Always friendly and we have had good service most times. We usually go to Whitefish location today we were in Kalispell and they seemed a little under staffed since we waited a while but seems everywhere is these days. Generally we have been happy with our Bank.

Sadly, this bank has changed for the worst. Much worse. Apparently there is no longer free checking. My guess is that some bigger fish bought them out or merged with them within the last year or so. It’s obvious: FEES FEES FEES GREED GREED GREED. What a shame. I imagine the employees feel it too, unfortunately.My local friends urged me to go with Glacier Bank when I first moved out here. I really wish I would’ve listened. They have a 4.1 star rating on here! Big difference from First Interstate’s rating of 2-ish stars. ?P.S. First Interstate’s hours suck for customers.

What kind of national bank doesn't make it possible for kids to make deposits after hours??? I've never heard of a bank in the 21st century that doesn't have a method of deposit after hours.

I've been banking with First Interstate for a while now and have never had any problems with them, the lady's are always super nice and make me feel welcome by remembering my name. Idk why there are so many negative reviews (why do the "can I speak to your manager" people have to exist ?) but I wouldn't want to bank with anyone else ??

This institution purchased my account when they bought Flathead Bank in 2014. Everything was fine until they decided to start charging a $5 monthly service fee and $2 for paper statements beginning this February 24th, 2020.As if that wasn't enough to make me switch banks, I'm now told I am not allowed to make purchases from verified retailers I've used before because of international fraud policies.Excuse me, but I am a grown man and understand the risks. Who do you think you are to tell me where I can and can't spend MY money.My account will be closed this month after I find a better replacement, which shouldn't be too hard.

I have banked with First Interstate for a long time. They’ve always been amazing to me. I read through some of these reviews and all I have to say is wow. I don’t know if they’ve ever banked it any other place but the stuff they are complaining about every other bank does the same thing. Customer service is amazing. Thank you to everybody that works there.

Worst bank ever. Horrible customer service. No compassion or care. Rude and man does this bank love to charge endless amounts of fees. And trying to ask them to at least see things from a customers perspective is beyond pointless. Would never recommend this bank to anyone ever. I’d rather hide my money in a freaking toilet than bank here. They don’t even deserve one star.

There is not a black star or I would use it to rate their trust service department. Nice people but unbelievable in efficiency and timing to the bank’s advantage!! No experience in large trusts per employees. Where do you think the money has sat for two plus years?! Instead of to the designated use of $$ by deceased to designated philanthropic causes.
