Elk River Books is an inviting and clean antiquarian and used bookstore in Livingston, Montana. It is a great place to unwind and cozy up with a good book on a comfy couch. The shop offers an excellent assortment of book selections, with a large used books section and a really lovely collection of rare books strewn throughout. It specializes in Western Americana, adventure, hunting, fishing, natural history, poetry, and works by the Montana Gang, alongside curated selections of many other genres. The layout of the shop is outstanding, with well-labeled bookshelves. While not a huge shop, it has some really great books and also a great selection for random gifts. It hosts excellent presentations and a variety of community events, like book readings. A great place to spend a lot of time browsing, there is definitely something for everyone.
What a fantastic book store! They ship books, so if you don't have room in your suitcase, you can still buy from them. The employee I interacted with was so sweet and helpful! If I'm ever back in Livingston, I'll shop here again for sure!

A reasonable selection of books. There were even some rare editions including some signed by the authors. Definitely worth stopping by once in a while.
