In the Missoula store on 3/25/25, I encountered an incredibly discourteous sales associate in the gun department while attempting to purchase a 22 LR revolver as a gift for my daughter to address the varmint issue on our property. When I presented my ID for the federal background check, they informed me that I needed to be a resident of the state in which I was making the purchase. I was unaware of this requirement, but upon learning it, I had no issue with the policy. However, the associate's rude behavior was unacceptable. When I explained that I would bring my daughter, a state resident, to buy the firearm, the associate arrogantly declared that he would refuse to sell her the gun and even went as far as saying he wouldn't sell it to anyone for a week! My daughter is fully legally qualified to purchase a firearm. After this appalling treatment, I will never return to Cabela's for any future purchases.

The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. It was nice to stop in and not be bombarded with requests to join their club (just a credit card not an actual club, kinda misleading) like at so many other locations.

In the Missoula store 10/29 I went into the store to purchase a toy rifle, and a new pair of hunting boots. No prices on the old west toy guns. I looked, I waited and no associate to be found. I should not have to go "searching" for help. I got frustrated and went to the shoe department. An associate greeted me and I never saw him again. I found a near $250 boot I wanted to buy. I needed an associate to retrieve my size so I could purchase the boots. No associate to be found, I'm frustrated and left back to the toy guns and the same thing, no prices, no help. I walked out spending no money on the merchandise I came for, and disappointed. I'm a Club member, Cabelas is my go to store over all the other outdoor stores in town, and I went shopping at Sportsmans. Not happy

Overall, it was a clean and well stocked Cabelas. It's not big by any means, but it has everything I need and never busy.
