Superb service, team, and experience. The best of the best. This was our third visit overall, though first bringing our entire family, so that probably says more than anything.

We just returned from our third stay at RRC, which have all been in December. I feel badly about the negative reviews because we have had just the opposite experiences. I can only assume that they are from peak season experiences. Short of heaven, it would be hard to have a place with that many guests run smoothly all the time without occasional problems. We are in our mid 60s and we are world travelers on a budget. And while it is high in its price point we own a business and have commented that with all the employees it takes to run a resort of that size we can’t imagine RRC’s Total expenses. We take our family in December because it is less expensive and we don’t do presents so this is our Christmas celebration! We rave to people about RRC and say out of all the places we’ve ever stayed it is one of our favorites. And we are very picky!!!Now, if you don’t like gourmet food (which we do!) I can see that you might not like that aspect. However, I can say that from every aspect that we have experienced, I would give them 10 stars if I could. Going at that time of year, they have always treated us like we were the only guests there. We do a lot of entertaining and I know how hard it is to TRY to achieve that and more. Kudos RRC!Rooms: I’m a retired interior designer, been give a tour of many of your buildings and love every detail of every one of them! Also, love the mattresses!!Food & drinks: We’re foodies (my husband being a gourmet cook) and they outdo themselves! And thank you for all the cookies! That’s my love language.?

We had the pleasure of spending Christmas this year at the Ranch at Rock Creek. Initially, I was unsure of spending the holiday away from home, but it was absolutely wonderful. The ranch did such an amazing job making the holiday special. Every building was decorated with lights, and wreaths, warm fires were always lit in every fireplace, Christmas music played in all the common areas, and the food was everything you could wish for over the holidays. On Christmas day we were able to go skiing up at the nearby mountain, and the ranch catered a beautiful lunch outside in the snow with fire pits, hot drinks and beautifully set tables. It was something we will absolutely remember forever, so such a big thank you to all of the employees working on the holiday! The absolute highlight of our trip was the horse program. My daughter and I are avid riders, and we were able to ride almost every day. The private trail rides were absolutely amazing, and tailored to our skill level. Riding in the Montana wilderness and loping up mountains was absolutely magical. We had the pleasure of riding with Kim, Gracie, McKenna and Aubrey, who were all so knowledgeable, kind and fun to ride with. The horse program here is truly outstanding. The horses are so well cared for, and 1000% safe, but still with lots of get up and go when asked. We were able to ride Jelly, Tank, Kirk, Buckaroo, Conway, Quincy, China and Aussie. All of these horses were very special, wonderful, patient, beautiful horses. Thank you for making this ranch such a special place. We highly recommend, and will remember this Christmas for the rest of our lives.

Excellent on every level. Staff was beyond hospitable. Food was amazing. Accommodations rustic but wonderful. Hard to find fault at all. Would love to go back with family or friends after going for work. Do yourself a favor and GO! Get a facial and shoot some clays. Best of both worlds!

the place sucks and its not worth the money. terribly over rated and overpriced. this is NOT a 5 star resort. they dont tell you up front that the activities are very limited, they do not have adequate seating to serve all guests comfortably in the dining rooms, kids are allowed to run through dining rooms and stick their hands in the buffet. just a horribly over priced low end experience. Forbes should be sued for rating this place 5 star.

The Ranch is located on a spectacular piece of property. I am going to break out the positives followed by my opinion of the deficiencies or flaws. My wife and I spent five nights at the end of July. We stayed in the main Lodge and our room was “Derringer”. The ranch is currently without a full time General Manager. The land, river, trails mountains are all beautiful. The grounds are well kept except for a number of pot holes on the roads which guests are regularly walking or biking on.The Horses seem to be treated very well, not overworked and seem to be very healthy. The people starting from the owner are extremely nice and focused on the guests. The activities are fun, well planned and you are always accompanied by a private guide. We participated in fishing, archery, sporting clays, sapphire mining, horseback riding, a UTV tour of some trails and other activities. The dinners were decent. The best meal was the Barbecue, outside after the rodeo. Three of the 5 meals were “tasting menus”. While the food was decent I am not a fan.The Breakfasts were good. The negatives are the following:Guests are encouraged to use bicycles and walk around the property. Obviously it’s not the resorts fault but it happened to be 95 degrees when we were there which is not typical. One night there was a “Running of the Horses” which requires a walk or ride of approximately 3/4 of a mile to get to from the Lodge. It is then followed by dinner. My wife and it seems many of the guests liked to dress up just a bit for dinners. When we asked about being dropped off for the event we were actually told no and that they couldn’t accommodate us. That is not Five Diamond Service, period. We skipped the event.WiFi in the dining area was good and it was acceptable in the main area in the lodge. It was terrible in our room.We had hot water problems. The first three mornings there was no hot water. The last two mornings it took leaving the shower on for approximately 10-20 minutes to get warm water. We were told each day that the problem was being taken care of. In fairness after day two, they offered to change our room. Since we were told the first 3 times that the problem was rectified and we had two weeks worth of clothing unpacked (our trip continued elsewhere), we elected to stay in the same room. We obviously would have moved had they told us that they could not fix the problem. On the day of the UTV tour it was in the 90’s. On of the vehicle doors wouldn’t open and the driver window was stuck closed. The heat was very uncomfortable. Eventually the guide opened the front windshield after warning us that the vehicle would fill up with insects, he was correct. We were notified that we would be contacted at least 30 days before the trip to talk about schedules and preferences. Approximately 2 weeks before I had to contact the ranch because nobody had reached out. It was during this time that I found out that scheduling horseback riding more than once was discouraged and challenging at best. The room we were in was very small. There were three typical bar areas, at the “Barn” where lunches are served, the main lodge and the Saloon. Is it really that difficult to have a common staple like strawberries or strawberry syrup for daiquiris margaritas etc? They did keep it at the Lodge but not the other two bars. While I know this sounds “picky” I will again remind the reader $4000 a night and Forbes Five Diamond. They ran out of bananas, diet cokes, and a couple of times Guacamole. Remember, it’s a very limited menu, and you’re not on an Island in the South Pacific. In closing, my personal opinion is that it is double the cost of what it should be. If I was paying $2000.00 a night I would give 5 stars with all the flaws. You can’t charge that kind of money because the value simply isn’t there in my opinion.

Not the resort it was. Staff turnover and shortages has dramatically lowered the quality since our last visit 2 years ago. Price is at least triple what it should be. Potholes everywhere, slow service, important venue details left out. Food vastly inferior. Would recommend if price would drop by 2/3rds. As it now stands, it’s a rip-off.

If you're an investment banker from Connecticut who has never been outdoors before this is exactly what you would imagine a ranch to be like. If you hate nature but want to pretend to be outdoors it's probably up your alley. If your idea of having a real Montana experience involves not experiencing Montana you'll probably dig It here.

The Ranch at Rock Creek is simply amazing. A winter wonderland of fun activities. The people that are at the ranch are some of the best staff I have ever met and I have been to many resorts but this ranch is next level. Mackenna one of the lead wranglers was high energy and very knowledgeable and made sure everyone had a great time. Audrey the rodeo expert and Mackenna took us on a horse ride around the river which was not only super informative but a peaceful enjoyable experience. Call outs like Kayden, Rebeca, who were outstanding severs. Craig the wine sommelier was very knowledgeable and Jonathan the bartender/IT guy made me an amazing Manhattan! This guy is legendary! Rowdy was our guide for the snowmobile tour that was incredible and he was a very patient and an outstanding guide. Kate answered all our phone calls, Chelsea brought us a killer pizza! Best pizza I had all year! Nani was our driver most of the time and she always went the extra mile! Emily was one of our servers who took care of us at the Buckle Barn, Julia and Dalon were our killer bartenders at the Saloon. Everyone was very personable and super accommodating. This place is expensive but worth every cent! I give this place a round of applause for being the best vacation experience I have ever had! Thank you Ranch at Rock Creek you are all amazing! It was an epic four day weekend!

Spent the final days of a long and exhausting vacation touring National Parks at the ranch for a much needed relaxing and invigorating finish. The ranch more than met this need. Tremendous staff, cuisine and oodles of activities to chose from - including doing nothing but enjoying the ambience.

We visited in June 2022. The Ranch at Rock Creek does not meet expectations of a 5-star luxury resort. The accommodations are certainly not luxurious, particularly the glamping cabins that start at $4K per night. The accommodations are small, the furniture is dated, the bathrooms are small and dated, even the toiletries and hair driers are low-end.The Ranch lacks adequate capacity to properly seat guests for dinners. This is a significant problem and well below the expectations of a 5 star luxury resort. The ranch has overflow seating on an outside patio that is covered with a tent and heated with a gas heater. This is totally unacceptable and not what one would expect for the price. My husband and I were never seated inside the Lodge for dinner during our 5 night stay. Instead, we were seated outside on the tented patio that was heated by a gas heater. This was very low-end, and not consistent with a “luxury 5 star resort”. To make matters worse it was 50 degrees and raining outside. We ate as quickly as possible and left. I had to keep my coat over me at dinner it was so cold and damp. Also, because it was raining I had to call for transportation from our cabin to the Lodge. When the SUV arrived to pick us up we were asked if we would mind if a family of 5 squeezed in with us! I rode shotgun and my husband had to ride in the 3rd row so the family could get in. This was an inconvenience and just not the kind of VIP service and privacy you would expect from a 5 star resort. On a separate occasion, my husband and I were seated with another party (another couple whom we did not know) for dinner. This is an unacceptable practice and inconsistent with the expectation and practices at other 5-star resorts. We have never experienced anything less than private dining at any other 5-star property we have visited. Guests that are spending $4K+ per night are not interested in being seated at a table with another party. Once again, low-end and not consistent with 5 star resorts. Also because of inadequate dining capacity at the Ranch, families with disruptive children are seated amongst couples and other adults. On numerous occasions during our “5-star meals” we had to watch parents disciplining their children running around the dining facilities, crying, grabbing food off the buffet and being generally disruptive. Not what you would expect for a “5 star resort”.Availability of activity reservations is inadequate. We were not told up front that we would be unable to ride horses or fly fish more than once during our 5 night stay. We booked our trip 6 months in advance. We made it clear when we made our reservation that the primary purpose for coming to the Ranch was to fly fish and go horseback riding. By the time our Ranch Ambassador contacted us to schedule our activities, everything was already booked up. This is totally unacceptable. For the price we paid, we should have been able to schedule the activities we wanted on the days and times we wanted.Ultimately, we were able to ride and fish more than once but only after having to complain to management about the issue. Once again, low-end and not consistent with a 5 star resort. The only transportation to get around the property is by bicycle or on foot through dirt, mud, rain, etc. If the weather is bad enough you can call for a car but expect to get in a filthy SUV packed with other guests. Once again, low-end and not consistent with a 5 star resort.I’m in disbelief by the 5 star reviews I see online for The Ranch At Rock Creek. Many of the guests we met did not actually pay for their stay personally - they had won trips, were gifted trips, or were there on corporate outings. I find it hard to believe that anyone that has truly stayed at a real 5 star resort would rate the Ranch as 5 star.

Beware of how inaccurate their website is when it comes to pricing and dates of the pricing. On their website it shows "April 4-May 17" for pricing. On their pop-up calendar to look at availability, for those dates it shows $2400. But according to them, the April 4-May 17 ACTUALLY means April 1-30 and May 1-30. ?????? What? When I called to clarify, person I spoke with argued with me for over 15 min. I explained to her numerous times that their website was confusing and deceiving. I had even called twice before and confirmed what I believed the dates meant. I was not offered any type of apology for the confusion or frustration; just accused of yelling at her, which I wasn't. I asked to speak to someone else and was refused. Glad we didn't spend the money on this place, only to find out their so called customer service extends to all areas of the establishment. If you have endless amounts of money, go for it. But if this is a one in a lifetime trip you've saved for--look somewhere else.

Ashlyn was amazing to dine with! She is a newer member of the staff and has really grown into the role. An absolute gem!
