About Muchwater Recreation Area
Muchwater Recreation Area is a primitive campground with nice flat campsites nestled in the forest, offering great views of the river and mountains. It is a peaceful and quiet place with beautiful scenery, providing a great disconnect from the world as there is no cell service. The sites are well spaced out, offering a decent amount of privacy, and are big enough for campers and RVs. The campground features primitive permanent outhouses and fire rings, with reviewers consistently noting the vault toilets are very clean. A distinctive feature is the industrial train that passes by multiple times during the day, which some find adds to the experience; it is generally not noticed at night. This free, dog-friendly site allows camping for up to 16 days and is a spot many hope to visit again.

I had a great spot right on the water, super chill site, with springtime was only a handful of others.

Awesome short term camping spot. Each site provides a decent amount of privacy. It's very peaceful here, save for the industrial train that goes by every three or so hours. However, that was my favorite part about this site. Will camp here againRestrooms: Cleanest vaulted restrooms I've ever seen at a campsite.
