This place has disgusting food! Nothing we ate was fresh. Soggy hamburger buns, frozen tator tots tasted microwaved and soft. Absolutely disgusting. The bar has a loud squawking bird behind the bar (complete with bird droppings right next to the microwave) and is a huge annoyance and makes the atmosphere just odd. Also not sure how they get away with serving food next to the animal droppings....maybe Montana doesn't have a food and health department?Either way this place stole our money and served us disgusting food. Will never be back!!

There was a smile on her face and a skip in her step. Beer was good. Food was good. It was all good. The bird was real…didn’t talk much but that’s okay…I talk too much myself. Very close to the 8 (which…by the way…was as good an experience). The Talking Bird Saloon is an easy walk back…even after two beers. More than that? Let me know.

Food was quickly delivered to the table. The waitress was tentative and helpful towards the daily specials. The quality was not top-notch....more like Mickey-D's. Good all around for food in the middle of nowhere. Not bad just might stomach an additional 100 miles for better choices.

We just finished breakfast the server never came to ask us how are food was. I got the skillet and my husband got the eggs sausage and hashbrowns. The sausage links were placed so the black was on bottom and the brown was showing on the top. The eggs were flipped over easy but brownish crunch around the edges. The hashbrowns were black on the plate side and mushy on the top, the skillet had black burnt pieces throughout. The biscuits and the English muffin were good, but that was it. When asked at the checkout how the breakfast was we told her it was burnt but the server got huffy and said nothing and my husband tried to hand her his credit card but she shook her head and walked off. I left cash at the register it was not our intention not to pay. Please do not ask a customer to lie about the food. We will not come back to this restaurant, apologies if someone had hurt feelings.

Great drinks at a good price. The resident proprietor George is worth a stop to see every time!

Good thing the Google bots don't take my spot. This is a classic MT stop for locals, and the prices reflect such. A proper Martini was priced and prepared well. The parking is quite clearly marked and empty.Karen, go home because this is a wholesome experience that you clearly can't comprehend. My favorite watering hole in western MT that city folk just NEED to lay they're reviews down on.Prices are right, service is right, nothing to complain about except the bad reviews.Didn't eat, but I met plenty of people that liked it. Welcome to the bush.

Overall this place is a gem. It's not fancy and the ambiance is strikingly Western but when you walk through the door you'll be welcomed like an old friend by both staff and patrons. If you don't appreciate chatting with the local color of a small community, this place probably is not for you.The food is plentiful. It's largely homestyle cooking but go early on the weekend if you're looking for breakfast as this place often runs out of food. My wife and I never miss stopping at the Talking Bird. We prefer the counter at the bar for drinks, eats, and conversation. Debbie has worked behind the counter serving up food and drinks back to the '80s and never misses a kind greeting. She makes a fabulous Ceasaer with a flair! Incidentally, there is a talking bird in the bar, his mane is George, stop in and say hello George....,..

This is a local watering hole. Joined to Jasper's restaurant it seems to be a busy place. George is the talking bird.

Horrible experience. We were having lots of fun at the dog house saloon but they didn’t have food so we came to the talking bird saloon(by the way…the bird doesn’t talk anymore). Server wouldn’t hardly even talk to us. She was rude!!!! No music. No atmosphere. Ordered food from the restaurant and took it back to the dog house saloon. If you don’t like working with people don’t go into the service industry. ?♀️. The talking bird saloon will totally ruin a good time!

After riding the Route of the Hiawatha Trail we were hungry and St. Regis was on the way to our next stop. We saw Jasper's and decided to eat before getting a milkshake at Huck's, gassing up and hitting the road. I can't say that Tabytha was very friendly. Maybe she's mad that her parents spelled her name wrong? ;-) She was pretty stoic and somber but she got the job done. My son had a burger and onion rings and I had the tuna melt (the special) and tater tots. My son said the burger was "fine" and I liked the tots. The tuna fish sandwich left a lot to be desired. Generally, I love tuna fish and I guess I should be glad it didn't make me sick but it was about as bland and food gets. Not sure what if anything they added to the tuna itself but if there was anything, it wasn't enough to taste it. And for almost $40 (before tip) for a burger, a tuna fish sandwich, tater tots, onion rings, a soda and a cup of coffee, I expect at least food with some taste, a waitress with a smile or maybe both (but that's a lot to ask apparently). My recommendation is to skip Jasper's and get a milkshake (huckleberry, of course) next door at Huck's. It'll fill you up, save you money and taste a lot better than the food at Jasper's.
