It is one of the most interesting book stores that you will see. It is owned by Matt and Renee, two of the nicest people in town.

I ordered an item that wound up being out of stock. Normally this would be no big deal for me. However, I requested an order cancellation and have waited (so far) 3 weeks for a refund. After a couple of emails I finally got a reply that they were too busy to refund me. It's a shame, because there were quite a few books on their site I was interested in buying.

What an odd little store. I liked it, in a weird sort of way. I don't know if the current social distancing environment has made this store less likely to carry a lot of inventory, or if it's just this way all the time. This is a stop if you need something, probably something off-the-wall, are in a hurry and don't want to drive the 15 miles or so to the larger towns. It's an odd mix of things: books about the area, survival guides (not a bad thing to have in this part of the state), clothing, some cans of miscellaneous food, candy, toys, a few fishing lures, and the requisite touristy stuff. I almost have the feeling it's set up for those in the nearby cabins on a fishing vacation who don't want to take the time to drive somewhere. If you're hiking in the area and need something quick, Granny's will meet the need. But, like Tom B noted in his review, there's no gas station here, so if that's what you need, keep driving.Granny's Country Store is quirky. I sort of like that.

It's old and doesn't have a big selection but it's the only store in town so stop and keep Granny in business. There no gas but a station is only 15 mikes each way.
