Worlds best fly rods. People are friendly and knowledgeable about their rods and Bauer reels. Museum, gift shop, and tours available.

I love Winston fly rods. They are very aesthetically pleasing, feel just right, and cast like a dream. I also love that they are made in beautiful Twin Bridges. It just seems right to be making rods right on the Beaverhead River. Stop by and cast a rod or two. I think you'll be hooked if you do.

I have 2 WT’s which I love. I unpacked one to check it in preparation for a fishing trip and found the tip section broken - have no idea how, why or when it happened. I contacted Winston, they had me send it in and were able to repair/replace the tip section - Thank you so much for taking care of this for me. Dave Hudak

So in July of 2021 I sent a damaged Passport Rod back to Winston for repair. Granted it wasn’t a new rod, and it certainly wasn’t the highest quality rod they manufacture. But it was a dependable rod and I really liked it. I wish I could say the same for their customer service, or more accurately the lack of customer service. I followed the instructions on their website, and checked the appropriate box’s and enclosed a check for $75, as information on the website advised. I received an email advising me that the rod was not repairable, because it was no longer being produced, there was also the obligatory information about being patient as the covid dealio was slowing things down at Winston. In this email I was advised to call the repair shop for my options in replacement of my broken rod. So... I called, and called again... left a message for them to call me back... and so far (09-29-21) not one single response, by phone or by email. I have not yet checked with my bank to see if my check was cashed. So I called their customer service department, listed again, on their website. I actually got to speak with a human being, and I will say he was polite, and very kind. I explained my circumstances to him and he advised me that he was the head of a department there at Winston Rods, and he was going to send me a new rod. The rod was the current rod that would be considered an equal value to my Passport rod, he stated he would waive the $75 replacement fee due to the lack of response by Winston. He also stated he would personally speak with the repair shop and make certain they got in touch with me. Once again... nothing (09-29-21). Now I am not here to trash Winston, I genuinely loved that rod! I also will make a little allowance for the covid so-called event. Plus shortly after speaking with this gentleman from Winston, I did go hunting in the Bighorn Mountains for about a week, and I did not have phone service up there. However, no email, and no rod. Personally I find this unacceptable and probably will purchase any future rods from other companies that stand behind their products and supply customer service and not excuses to their customers. I am 62 years old and I still hold to the concept that the customer (every customer) is important, and within common sense the customer is always right. So I am posting this today, not to trash Winston... but to give everyone who might be considering purchasing a rod from Winston a “head’s up”. You might get a good rod, (in fact it might be a great rod) but if it breaks, unless you got a friend at Winston, or you are filthy rich and just buy another rod from them... don’t expect them to stand behind any of their products, despite their warranties or promises. My opinion, from my experience, Keith

If I could give below 1 I would. This company has a contact submission form on the website. Twice I sent a submission…absolutely zero response. Worst customer service experience in over 20 years. Have now placed a $5,000 order with Sage….never again will I own a “Winston” rod

I love my Winston LT purchased back in 2003. BUT - my recent repair service was a complete disappointment. I broke the tip and sent it in to be replaced. The tip section i received back had a misaligned guide ( very slightly) but noticeable. Which was not really a cause for return, but the Tip Guide was "WAY" out of alignment. I sent the rod back to be re-repaired. What i received back (17 days later) was the same tip section with the same slightly misaligned guide with a straight Tip Guide.
