The Fairweather Inn is an excellent historic hotel for any stay in Virginia City. The staff were super friendly and the proprietor, Becky, was very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and Virginia City itself. We were on a motorcycle trip and only stayed in Virginia City for one night, but next time, we will stay two nights and be able to explore the area more.

The rooms seemed to be just covered in paneling. The girl at the front desk was wonderful and helpful with directions and what there was to do in the town.Walkability: We did a ghost walking tour of the Town our tour was very knowledgeable and a wonderful story teller.

Our experience from the moment we walked through the door was pleasant. The young lady at the front desk greeted us with a smile and a heart warming personality. Our room was clean and cozy. What a great "ghost town" to stay in.

Yes, 5 stars if you're looking for a wonderful experience in a charming & rustic historic hotel. Helpful, friendly & welcoming hosts (Thank you Patty) - Virginia City has a charm like few other Montana towns. We would most certainly return and stay here again.

Can't beat the location and the hospitality. A very nice comfortable quiet inn with all the charm you would expect.

My first trip to Virginia City, MT was in 1967 and the Fairweather Inn has all the charm that it did 55 years ago. It is the centerpiece of town and a beautiful example of the 1800’s at its best. While the town has evolved from an authentic western home on the range to more of a tourist family western venue, it is full of history and wonderful locally owned shops. While there are eye popping prices at the candy store ($14.00/lb), and the rooms at the Inn are not bargain prices, the town has to survive on what it reaps between the months of May 30 through Sept 15. Don’t expect a Marriott when visiting the Inn. Loosen up and enjoy the ole’ feel of the hotel while people watching from the balcony.

We stayed in a cabin and toured the virginia city and Nevada city .it was affordable and we even could bring our dog . The cabin doesn't have a TV which at first the family hated it . BUT it was great as a family we had time to be out and about and toured the area and played a card games in the evening that we bought at one of the stores there. Rested well and it was quiet . Plan on staying there again .Plus I would recommend it and it's updated inside and it was a fun vacation

We stay in the old cabins in Nevada City. This was our second time to do this and we have enjoyed both times. They have been refurbished on the inside and are very comfy.

This is such a cool place to visit, the entire town is packed full of American history. The rooms are clean and basic and really that’s all you need when you visit a small old town. The place is old so don’t be surprised if there is a lot of noise from the creaking of the old wood. There’s no WiFi or tv and that’s okay. Verizon, ATT and T-Mobile have all installed a new network so you’re still connected.

We came through on Friday after the 4th just working our way down from Fort Benton/Great Falls and got lucky enough to get last cabin available cabin #5 on a walk in!!!! This is in Nevada City which was fine with us! Oh my goodness we had the best time hanging out Friday night and Saturday. We got a wonderful dinner at the steak house, a couple of drinks at bale of hay saloon, the ghost tour with Lois at bale of hay, and even got some awesome breakfast at the bakery in Nevada City! Not to mention the car show was Saturday the next day and it was awesome too!!! Even took an old time photo! The entire experience was tremendous!5/5 all the way around! Ill leave a few pics with this review, make sure to look at some of them closely! We managed to catch some crazy pictures on the ghost tour!

All around Wonderful hotel .The Room was clean and very well kept the "Mattress Mill"bed was comfortableand simple furnishings made you feel at home right away.Thankfully modern conveniences in the 1880's Inn like updated bathrooms and anA/C unit made our stay absolutely perfect.
