This visitor center is really pretty. If you are staying in whitefish or Kalispell , this will be the visitor center from where you will enter the park for Going to the sun road . They have nice and clean restrooms & decent amount of parking. It is close to Apgar village and Lake McDonald. You do not need to buy any tickets. It is invited in National park pass.

This is where you want to go to start your visit in Glacier. This is also where you catch the shuttle for the Going to the sun road if you don’t want to drive yourself. Unfortunately, the visitors center is past the checkpoint where you need reservations in summer. So you can’t get to the visitor center or take the shuttle between 6am and 3 pm in summer unless you have a vehicle reservation to enter the park. You could walk I guess. About 2 miles.

we rolled in around 3:30pm on a saturday and it honestly wasn’t as crazy as we were anticipating. there were 4 rangers outside helping answer questions very efficiently. Ranger’s Natalie and Joseph were excellent! the small shop inside has your typical park souvenirs. large bathrooms, so no lines! water bottle fill station. shade. 30 mins wi-fi. all in all, a decent visitor center!this park feels overwhelming to navigate, between all their reservation systems and not clear information online, here were some questions we had/answers we were given by Rangers:1Q. can our 10’2” tall van make it up Going to the Sun Rd (as their website vaguely states “you might have difficult if you’re over 10ft”)?A. you should be fine, the two inch difference shouldn’t cause issues, especially driving from west to east (the rock overhangs are more of a concern driving east to west), just drive safely and abide by road rules.2Q. do you need a car reservation the day you check in or out of your campground?A. no, campground reservation counts for both days.3Q. can you drive through the Apgar west entrance before 6am due to construction?A. you can, their website has not been updated to reflect this, just expect delays.4Q. are dogs allowed on the CDT like they are on the PCT in some parks? Any BARK Ranger Program here?A. no and no.

Excellent area with many park rangers to offer advice, information and shuttle routes. Gift shop had many options and the bathrooms were clean!

This is a newer visitor center so the facility is nice and in good condition. Bathrooms and water refill stations are available here. There is no inside walkthrough or videos to watch regarding the park. The interior is just a gift store. The park shuttle station is located here and the Red Bus tours also pickup here. There are several wall mounted maps showing the park and you can pick up several pamphlets for various things to do in the park. If you are looking to hike, make sure to grab the hiking pamphlet since the main park brochure does not have that kind of information. It looks a little bit like a newspaper. The gift shop inside does sell the detailed maps of the park which also have the hiking trails. There are lots of friendly park rangers to speak with at this location. I recommend speaking one before going on your hike to understand difficulty and the best times to avoid crowds. Many of the hiking trails have very limited parking so a bit of advice may save you a lot of trouble later.

Running a free shuttle to reduce traffic on the magnificent Going to the Sun Road is a great idea. But it is not well implemented. First, you still need a vehicle reservation for the two miles from West Glacier to the Visitor Center. NO CAR is not an option unless you are prepared to walk there. Second, it took us four hours to get to Logan Pass with the shuttle, even though we got up early and queued at 7.15am. Serious lack of capacity in the morning, the shuttle runs less often than indicated. Early shuttles can take about 13 people. The first bigger shuttle with a capacity of 25 only turned up at 9am. Many people‘s nerves got strained… This said: it‘s beautiful up there, definitely worth going. And the chauffeurs are very friendly.

Apgar Visitor Center is just about like every other visitor center in the National Park Service! It has a nice assortment of souvenirs as well as info about the park. The rangers our front were helpful but didn't talk much- almost like they were in a way hiding something.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place to catch the going-to-the-sun road bus for hiking and sightseeing. There is a large parking lot, restrooms are available here and free wifi for 30 minutes. I really appreciated the wifi so I didn't have to use data to connect with my family while I'm travelling. Thank you!

Great spot to start or end your day with clean bathrooms, free charging station (with chargers included), a shop, filtered water for refilling your own bottles or bladders, maps available outside, a decent amount of cell service for most carriers and access to WiFi! Do note- you will only be able to access 30 min of WiFi a day as the park wants to encourage visitors to get out in nature. Walking distance to McDonald lake and the village next to it.

Of all the visitor centers we did at Glacier National Park, this had the most helpful rangers for planning your park experience. As this visitors center is on the west side of the park, it gets the most traffic compared to the Easter side of the park. So be prepared to wait a few as their is generally a line to talk to the rangers. There is a small gift shop on site for suvioners and clean restrooms.

What a great national park. Had tour from Blac Feet Tribe memer who gave us great presentation about Glacier National Park. He used his native language and songs while explaining. Would like to be back.
