we did the cruise on swift current lake. The docking station was right next to swift current inn. It was a small ride and then a hike to lake Josephine. We had to board another boat from there. We hiked to the Grinnell lake . It was an amazing experience. We had the most fun that day. The staff is very nice and they will make sure you are returned to land safely. We also saw a bunch of Moose when we reached Josephine lake. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend the swift current cruise if you can get a ticket. Pre booking is very important. When we tried online and on phone we were told they are completely booked for the season. This was end of august. It was only by chance when we reached swift current lodge i just went to ask and put our names in the waitlist. We were the last ones to get on to the boat. This was one of the best experience in Glacier NP.

We recently had the pleasure of taking the 7 PM sunset boat ride at Lake McDonald on the majestic DeSmet with the Glacier Park Boat Company, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From start to finish, everything about this tour exceeded our expectations.Ethan, our tour guide, was an absolute gem. His passion and knowledge about Lake McDonald and its surroundings were evident from the moment we set foot on the boat. Throughout the tour, he provided a captivating and informative commentary that enriched our understanding of this beautiful place.Ethan's narration covered a wide range of topics, including the history of Lake McDonald, the majestic Bald Eagles that call this area home, the challenges posed by forest fires, and the awe-inspiring geography of the surrounding mountains and valleys. His storytelling skills kept us engaged throughout the journey, and we left with a profound appreciation for the natural wonders of Glacier National Park. The 7 PM sunset tour was a perfect choice. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we were treated to breathtaking views that made this trip even more special. The combination of Ethan's storytelling and the stunning scenery created a magical atmosphere that will be etched in my memory forever. We highly recommend the Glacier Park Boat Company's sunset tour on the DeSmet to anyone visiting this area. It's an educational, scenic, and altogether delightful experience that offers a unique perspective on the wonders of Lake McDonald and its surroundings.Thank you, Ethan, and the entire Glacier Park Boat Company team, for providing us with such a memorable evening. We can't wait to return and explore more of the park's beauty on your other tours. This is an experience we will cherish for a lifetime! ???️

We took boat tour at Many glaciers park and its a good one for those who wish to enjoy scenic Grinnel lake by taking little walk. Friendly staff in answering your questions and explaining things. A bit pricey but its for two lakes roundtrip. You can skip boat and take additional 2 miles or so to get to lake or glacier viewpoint. If you don’t have reservation, try to show up early around 7 AM if you wish to get on to early boat as they take waitlist and manage as per spaces. 3:00 PM many in waitlist were taken on the day of our ride.

One hour boar tour from McDonald Lodge. The narrator gave interesting bits of information about the Glacier Boat Company as well as the park.

The pickup process at Many Glacier is atrocious. Over 75 people waiting on boats but only 1/3 of the boat exits the boat. They told me the tours get priority but I booked a tour. They wasted 2 hours of my day. Don’t book. Just hike the extra to the grinnell trail

Boat never showed up according to the return time schedule. Nobody provided clarification of which specific dock you’re expected to be at. Refused to offer a refund. It’s a simple service, and disappointing that they couldn’t even provide that.

We did the McDonald Lake tour. Not a nautical experience. Could have been equally thrilling standing on the dock. The guide gave us a very informative lecture, but you could have gotten all that information by attending 1-2 ranger talks (for free) in the park. The only sights visible from the boat are trees and some distant mountain peaks. The view is beautiful, but you can see the same view from the shore. The boat takes a slow path down the center of the lake and back. If, by chance, some wildlife were near the shore, you wouldn't see it. You're too far away. The only reason to do this boat tour is if you have 2 hours to spend in Glacier and you want to do something. If you have a day to spend, go with one of the tours along the Going-to-the-Sun Road.

I’m not big on leaving negative reviews, but I think this information is important for travelers that are often in the park for the first time. We’ve always rented from Glacier Outfitters and had a great experience. We were in a time crunch and stopped by Glacier Park Boat Company to rent a kayak and paddle boards. Their staff were rude, unhelpful, and you could tell not happy to be there. Their paddle boards are less expensive than Glacier Outfitters but way poorer quality. I believe they are foam similar to what you get from a cheap boogie board. I would not rent from them again based on my experience.

We took the Many Glacier Boat Tour before hiking to the Grinnell Glacier, then happily rode the boat back at the end of our hike. We learned so much from the boat tour guides (Brady, Emily and Jaden) that we were quoting their anecdotes all week. There were still plenty of spots in the Many Glacier parking lot at 10:15am when we arrived. I am so glad we made the drive around to the east side of the park for this tour and the hike, it was our best day in the park.

Great place to rent a boat (kayak, canoe, motorboat, etc.) to explore Glacier. With a rental you get access to the park when they are metering (not admission though). I highly recommend a kayak or canoe to explore the lake in the peace that comes with paddling. Staff was helpful and friendly.

We took the tour of St Mary’s Lake aboard the Little Chief. Sammy Jo was an excellent captain and guide. Lots of fun facts about the lake and great insight into the geology and biology of GNP. Highly recommended.

They were awesome! Very helpful and friendly. The equipment was in great condition. The scenery at Lake McDonald was spectacular.I only have one complaint. In the information they sent me it said they were located behind the Lake McDonald Inn. However, the location we were canoeing and kayaking from was in Apgar Village. These two locations are about 11 miles apart so 30 minutes drive. We showed up at the Lake McDonald Inn, which was not the correct location. They did radio to the other location at Apgar Village, to let them know we were running late and we were given our full two hours, which was awesome.I suggest you confirm your location with them directly, just to be sure that you go to the correct location.

We booked a tour on Lake McDonald to guarantee access to GTSR and that is super convenient. We also booked one the following day for Many Glacier. Huge shout out to Gavin and Maddy. The boat was packed and I have a service dog, they were super helpful communicating back and forth and making sure we were able to sit together and get a seat where he wouldn't be mashed between 2 seats. They made the boat tour even more enjoyable. It was really cool to be able to get the view from both the land and the water.
