99 cent soft serve. Great selection of items. Very nice respectful service by cashier (likely owner's son). Got a jacket for $33. Place was not cluttered like a lot of gift shops

Located right near the West Yellowstone entrance, this theater offers visitors a unique way to learn about the history of Yellowstone park. There is an extensive gift shop inside, and a snack bar. Tickets range from $10 a person (regular seating) to $14 (premium seating w/free small popcorn). Additionally, there are a variety of movie snacks to choose from including 99 cent soft cones. This is a beautiful theater that also offers select feature films at 7pm. Check the theater for film offerings and showtimes.

The staff was fun and friendly.
The film should be entirely replaced with modern filming techniques, writers and scoring. The trained grizzly bear sequences were worthy of a B-rated western TV movie. The foley artists added painfully high volume to the geyser eruptions that was unnecessary ?
We paid $29 for two of us, in "luxury" seats with a small popcorn for each of us. Good popcorn!
It felt like a P.T. Barnum cheat.

The movie was a vivid documentary on the origins and natives of this amazing National Treasure. The movie explains why there are so many geysers in the park and how they are formed. A movie for anyone interested in the formation of Yellowstone National Park. Well worth the price of admission.

Almost on the hour they hold showings of a 45 minute Yellowstone historical movie on the IMAX screen. This contain many interesting historical references and biographical information on the original inhabitants and discovers of the Yellowstone area.

All the employees were above and beyond kind, helpful and professional. I was super disappointed to have taken my children into what I thought was a family friendly IMAX experience about Yellowstone. The preview for the James Bond film was abundantly inappropriate for a younger audience. In surround sound and on an enormous screen my 7 and 8 year olds were subject to rather extreme violence as my husband and I panicked to cover their eyes and talk over the horrific sounds as best we could as we were not near an exit. I fully understand it is my responsibility to ask before I take my child into the theater, but I also find it shocking anyone would think this an appropriate pairing for a film about Yellowstone National Park. The film itself was ok, but also disappointing. There are so many wonders and so much history Yellowstone provides to be showcased on this amazing screen, and this one fell flat. As a side note, it also cursed, which again seemed strange for the purpose of the film. This is a wonderful location, theater, and store full of amazing employees. I hope those in charge may reconsider the preview and main film and use their unique resources in a better way in the future to showcase Yellowstone in an impactful way.

We are staying in West Yellowstone and we thought it would be good to see an IMAX movie on Yellowstone. The theater is beautiful and there weren’t many people in attendance. The film only lasted 38 minutes. It was a good quality film but I felt it could’ve shown a lot more of the special treasures of Yellowstone. Perhaps it should be updated to show the facilities that are available and the main treasures of Yellowstone. This theater has a great area for shopping for clothes, Sweatshirts, souvenirs and also you can purchase ice cream drinks pop popcorn and snacks and you don’t even have to see the movie.

Great concessions! Popcorn, candy, ice cream, fountain & bottle drinks, souvenirs, etc. First run movies and documentaries on IMAX. We have been to hundreds of theaters and this one is definitely in the top 5.

We found the right type of souvenirs for our road trip here. Great quality and large selection. Not to mention, their bathrooms were impeccably clean.

The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one star is the great facility. It's clean, the seats are nice and the gift shop is probably one of the best of all of them. The popcorn was fresh. The issue is that the major reason to visit is to see the Yellowstone film, which was clearly shot 30 years ago give or take. Much of it was out of focus - like it was filmed for a much smaller screen that it was being played on, the dialogue was terrible, the story was historically inaccurate (unless you want to believe that the US was somehow being benevolent by declaring Yellowstone the property of the US Government to "protect it" while simultaneously chasing the Indians off their land and into reservations). The theater gets a poor review from me because they are knowingly continuing to profit off of a film that has long since seen better days and needs to be retired. Shoot a new one or just convert to showing only new movies!

On our recent trip, we stayed in West Yellowstone, Montana. It was the cutest little town! And the IMAX theater was a nice break, and something different to do on an evening. Especially for the one in our family who doesn't love a constant nature/hiking only trip. It was nice to have somthing special for him to enjoy. We stayed at Kelly Inn and were able to just walk across the street. The theater wasn't crowded.

Best selection in West Yellowstone. You name it, they’ve got it. Children’s, men’s and women’s clothing. Kitchen goodies, house wares and gifts galore! It’s a gem and worth a visit all in a beautiful building.

We arrived in town too late to go into Yellowstone for the day, so we decided to take our preschool age daughter to see this movie to introduce her to some of the things she would be seeing over the next couple days at Yellowstone. I was a little disappointed that the movie was pretty dated, but it was still not so bad. I wish it was a little cheaper, we made up for the price by visiting a couple of times for the $1 ice cream cone deal.

Cute little place to grab a souvenir. Visited in the winter. Yes this town is still pretty active during the winter with the snowmobiling crowd.
