Not a happy international customer. Was impossible to get hold of once in Whitefish to check the online rental I had arranged was all in order. Rang multiple times and could only leave a message. Was charged for fuel when I returned it full (and have the fuel receipt to prove it). Once again, impossible to get hold of. The guy was nice at pick up but totally unprofessional and the inability to get in touch via email or any other method for that matter is ridiculous. I would really like a credit for the fuel I was incorrectly charged for but unless someone from Hertz Head office can give me a point of contact, I don't think this will be possible. Won't be hiring from Hertz again.

Was quoted as rental charge of $75 day. I knew there's always miscellaneous charges. 3 days × $75=$225. The actually charges were $572. I only went with Hertz because they were at the Amtrak station in Whitefish. I WILL NEVER USE HERTZ AGAIN!!!!!!!

Terrible experience. Rental car was not in good working order. We lost two and one half days of vacation activities. Rental agency provided no help. We had to have someone service vehicle - battery needed overnight charges.Individual at rental office promised no additional charges for mileage overage in return for our major inconvenience. They immediately charged us anyways. When I called to get charges removed, the same person promised me that the manager would call me back. This, on three different occasions. I never received a call back.I do not reco.mend dealing with this company. Heater also did not work.

Although the office transaction was very nice, 3 days after I returned my rental I was charged an additional $260. I called and left a message but nobody returned my call. Had to call Hertz support to find out the charge was for a "no show". Quite odd since I had the vehicle 5 days and was charged accordingly. Never had this problem at Enterprise.

You don’t get service like this ANYWHERE, anymore. Family owned and operated since the 60’s and they really make you feel welcomed to the town.The best!

I have never received such kind, considerate, friendly service, I believe it was the owner, had the car warming up an hour prior to pick up because it was a cold day. He shared about the history of the depot and family business and showed pictures, while keeping in mind timeliness and efficiency in our customers were very happy with him. Highly recommend it! A wonderful car as well!

Charming, friendly, kind, above and beyond service! On a cold day, the owner had the car warmed and ready to go right out front when we arrived. He shared of the family history of historic Hertz location and gave pointers about our trip, while being efficient and processing his customers timely! Highly recommended!

Very confusing. We drove around for 10 minutes trying to find the office. No indication that the office is actually inside the train station depot.
Also, the door was locked. Not sure if the office isn’t staffed due to covid or other reason. In any case, we asked around at the museum attendee next door (which was open) and she said there could be a key drop off. Ultimately we called Hertz customer service... and then someone just showed up now!

I experienced absolutely incredible customer service, 5+ stars. Betty Lynn was friendly with the initial booking. When the train arrived late, Dale came down personally and despite a booking error, Dale came down to the station and personally and kindly went above and beyond (it’s a long story just trust me it was atypically generous) to make sure my son got a car and on our way.

They had the only vehicle we could find to rent at the last minute near Glacier, and it wasn’t cheap! The office is a little odd in a metal building where they have more transportation businesses. However, the service was great and the car worked out well. I left my glasses when I returned it, and they sent them back to me without a charge or hesitation.

I can't say enough good things about the Hertz Rent-A-Car in whitefish. My train was over two hours late. Hertz typically closes at 9 PM. Our train arrived at 11:30 pm. Two days prior to my arrival, I received a call at home in which the manager of the Hertz confirmed with me my reservation and told me that if the train was late they would leave my keys there for me and have me just sign the paperwork and trusted me to leave the paperwork in a box. As we got off the train, I expected there to be no one at the Hertz. But, to my surprise there was a person there waiting for me. As I walk to the counter he knew my name and said that they had been waiting for me to make sure that I received my vehicle. He filled me in on everything in the town and for my trip to Bozeman. I cannot say enough good about these people. They were absolutely wonderful. Five stars!!!

I recently had a reservation at this location at a specific time in the evening, and showed up 30 minutes early. Over the course of the next 90 minutes, when I obtained another form of transportation away from the train depot and left, no one arrived at the office. There was a phone number to call in case no one was at the desk, and I called it and was told by the person that I talked to that they would attempt to contact the local office personnel, but apparently they were not able to successfully do this (because otherwise maybe someone would've shown up).

First, upon arrival everything seemed like it was perfect service. Dale, the owner of the facility greeted me with a smile, offered some small local talk, but at the same time reluctantly charged my credit card (saying it didn't process) and then proceeded to charge my debit card for almost $500 (twice the amount of actual rental) which really was no big deal, at the time. Fast forward to two and a half months later to receive an email from Hertz in Whitefish, Montana about a computer error (on their part), an invoice with a fictitious rental date, plus for some reason I was recharged again (by Hertz) for a third time, then credited (by Hertz), and then recharged again. You really cant make any of this up, it's beyond comprehension. Frankly, my wife and I have tried to understand how a computer error on their end is our fault, but have been provided no valid explanation or resolution. Ha, this is Hertz calling me now, but I'll post this anyway for all future travelers looking to rent a car in Whitefish, Montana. To end on a pleasant note, the surrounding area of Whitefish, Montana is beautiful.
