This is where you meet with local climbers and there are so many awesome events to build the climbing community as well. The routes are updated regularly and you can talk with setters and making request. Ryan is also a great coach he created a personal training plan for me to break through my performance plateau! If you are nearby and want to climb Rockfish is your best bet!

I joined Rockfish last fall and immediately found community. Coaches and staff were extremely helpful. Everyone I’ve met through the gym has been incredible and I’m so thankful to have found this gym. 24/7 fitness center and really open hours of climbing. If you’re stopping by the area or already live here, you should definitely check out Rockfish.

Ryan and Michelle have really elevated this little hometown climbing gym into a progressive climbing community! Organizing and incorporating indoor and outdoor events like a deep water solo comp, kid’s yoga, disco dyno parties, climbing film showings, the list goes on! The dedicated staff, coaches, route setters, and members give this training facility a pulse and welcoming atmosphere that you’ll want to be a part of!!

Fantastic climbing gym with nice people and extremely helpful staff! Fun routes are set frequently and contain a nice mix for beginner and advanced climbers alike. All of the effort and hard work by staff that goes into planning events like competitions, movie nights, and classes really make this gym feel like a community rather than just a place to climb. The people really set this place apart from other gyms I've climbed at.

Personally, I think this is the best gym in Whitefish. I love being able to work out on the climbing wall but also have access to free weights and machines in the fitness area. The staff is always kind and accommodating which I think is a huge bonus these days. Also, I see Rockfish involved in a bunch of community events which makes it feel even more inviting and down to earth. Whitefish and the the valley needed a climbing area like this and I am so thankful it is available.

The climbing is challenging and creative compared to lots of setting I've seen. Always peaceful and fun atmosphere. The staff is so warm and helpful and kind. The events the staff organizes, community involvement, classes, clinics, competitions, 24/7 gym, you name it and they've got it going on. Keep it up Rockfish!

Me and my family have been going here for years now. It's where my kids first learned to climb, and now both of them are on the gym's climbing team, and are really into it. It might not be as big and polished as other gyms, but the community Ryan and Miche have built around the gym over the last few years is what really makes it. It's a great place for people of all ages and abilities to climb, exercise, and socialize.

Rockfish is an amazing little bouldering gym with an absolutely fantastic staff.This gym would not be what it is without the dedicated staff going above and beyond to create a welcoming, fun and supportive environment for all levels of climbers. Their dedication and passion for climbing is evident in the countless hours spent implementing and running programs and events, setting routes and all the unseen effort that creates the overall good vibe this place has. Routes are consistently updated to keep things fresh and new, (the setters are incredibly creative and talented!) It’s an easy place to meet people whether you’re new to climbing, new to the area or just want to climb and be inspired! There is something for everyone at Rockfish!Thank you everyone at Rockfish for all that you do to keep this place a positive and essential part of our community!

Great little gym! Staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is awesome. Routes are changed often so there’s always a challenge. Gym isn’t usually crowded, though for some events it can get busy. Awesome place!

A cozy little hole in the wall gym for those who wanna get strong. Just saw Tommy Caldwell and Alex Honold here struggling on some routes. The climbing kids are very respectful and aware of the standards. Yes there are some kids that use it as a playground but the staff is adamant of teaching them how to respect other climbers and get into the sport! Very welcoming of all walks of life. Clean facilities and a great fitness center for other fitness endeavors. I hear they are working on getting a new sound system.

Rockfish has the best combination in Whitefish. They have an excellent climbing gym with routes that change all the time so the challenge is always evolving. Secondly the Rockfish team is the only 24hr gym here so no matter the time of day you can go get your swell on. Thanks Rockfish for humbly serving the Whitefish community!

My Grandson whom is 7 years old wanted to go climbing. He had been to Rockfish a couple years when we visited.. We were visiting from Southern California and was taking him to places he wanted to go. We found that the smaller walls he was able to reach the top. What was fun for him was there was a slide to go down to the floor. They also have w weight room.

Yeah, it’s dark, yeah, it’s a little dingy, but this is a real, Whitefish, Montana family owned and operated business. This is a gathering place, where all are welcome with open arms without judgment. One might say ‘the climbing gym in my city is much bigger and much nicer with way taller walls and more accurate grades’, but no other gym can offer the authenticity, comradery, friendship and positive energy of Rockfish Climbing & Fitness. Free of cliques and ego-maniacs, this is an amazing facility to learn the beautiful movement of climbing, as well as have fun and laugh. Highly recommended.

Great place for a rainy or cold day. I take my 3 year old there and he loves it! Up the boulder, down the slide.. for hours!Reasonable prices. Great workout facility. Highly recommend!
