I found the electrical part I was looking for plus I checked out new mowers. Went to check out decided to check ace app to see if there was any current discounts found one and showed cashier was told they can't scan barcode until they find my name in system I gave name and phone number sorry your not in our system can't give you discount. When I got home I sent email to ace customer service and they verified I was in the system it just seems the Columbus store has a outdated computer system. ACE App was suppose to be the way to go for their special and rewards program but if you can't use it at the Columbus store it useless to me.

After stopping at David city’s ace and finding out their machine was down for repairs otherwise they would do it I called Ace in Columbus asking if they cut keys specifically key fobs that I have 2 that need to be cut. The person I talked to said yes we do and they had the machine to do it. I drove awhile to get there. A grumpy older guy asked me if I needed help. I asked about key fobs showed him mine and he rudely told me we absolutely wont do that only ours. I had no idea what he was talking about and after about 4 or 5 we won’t do that’s I finally got him to be quiet enough to ask why and what ours meant. We won’t cut any key fobs that aren’t bought from us. We have 100 stores that won’t do it. I told him the one in David city will but their machine was down he basically called me a liar and I said fine maybe you should guys should say that so people don’t drive a ways to do it. I ended up going to earnest and getting it done.

I was treated disrespectfully when addressing the missing discharge plug on the lawn mower I purchased. I was laughed at and told I didn't know what I was looking for. The third trip to the store, a very kind employee helped find the part in the store and sent me on my way with the plug in hand. The mower and the salesman were great. So, customer service is hit and miss.

I brought my Stihl trimmer in to be serviced. The trimmer was idling and than shutting off. I brought it in to be worked on, they replaced the carburetor without asking if they should. They charged me $200 to replace it… so I’m mad about that because the machine is not much more than that to buy new.So I get it home the next week after they fixed the carburetor and the throttle doesn’t work, like they didn’t install it correctly after taking the machine apart. So I took it back to them and after 2 weeks of having it they fixed it without a charge but I had it happen again to me last week. I took it apart myself to fix it because I can’t wait two weeks to have it fixed. It was a simple 5 min job.All in all I won’t be returning to ace hardware in Columbus for my stihl needs after this. You will have better help elsewhere.

I've only lived in the Columbus area for a year (will be here for a while) and have heard great things about this Ace. However, my feelings about returning are mixed. I brought blades in to get sharpened thinking my angle grinder was in tough shape. The gentleman that helped me fixed my angle grinder in less than 30 seconds and for no charge of which I am grateful. The gentleman that took my mower blades, however, was not very customer-friendly and told me to come back in the morning. Granted I know my blades (6 blades) are not a huge priority and there are other things in the "shop", but a quick 10 minutes at best and it's done. Then, I came to pick up an online order (96 gallon trash can) and called to have curbside pickup. The lady that answered said I'm not doing that and you'll have to come in to grab it--it's in the front. Not a great feeling leaving the store. Hoping if I do return, that my next experience is better.

We recently had Ace repair our mower. I've had a few issues with it and was considering just purchasing a new one, so I wasn't going to put much $$$ into repairs. We were told $30 to $40 would cover it and it would only take a few days. Well, a month later it's fixed and we were hit with $125 repair charge. There were no additional repairs done. They claimed it just took them longer and the additional is labor costs. Extremely disappointed in their deception and will not go there again.
