My companion and I were greeted pleasantly upon entering and our server was amazing. Our drinks were made to perfection. Our meals were just as perfect. Everyone should experience El Tapatio. This restaurant is truly a gem of a find.Parking: Parking is on the street and very plentiful.Kid-friendliness: This is a very family orientated restaurant. The more, the merrier.Wheelchair accessibility: The main entrance is even with the sidewalk. This makes it easily wheelchair accessible.

You can find good authentic food here. The staff is very friendly in the food. Comes out in a decent time setting. All around. Good place to eat.

This is a hard review for me to write. I am lumping dozens and dozens of experiences together to come to that 3 star rating. El Tapatio used to be great. Hands down the best Mexican in Columbus. This was years ago when they were in the basement of a building on the square down town. Growing up it was a special treat to go here. Then in college I ate here at least once a week. The food was fantastic and the owner and staff were great people. They got to know me by name I loved it so much. Back then it was a lock for 5 stars. But I am very old that this was back before even yelp existed. We were back in Columbus recently and I insisted we go back to El Taps (what we called it). It is in a new building about a block from the old restaurant location. Sadly it was miles away in quality. The place was almost empty and it still took forever to order and then forever again to get our food. Then when it came... it was not good. I was heartbroken. I'm not sure what happened or if it was an off day but it was bad. By itself it would be a one star but I am holding on to 100 great meals from years past and going to settle on giving it a 3. Here is hoping you have a better time than our last visit. Assuming they have the same owner that they used to, they were good people and deserve all the success they can get.

Great service. Food was mediocre at best. The food wasn’t hot. It was cool. I ordered chicken enchiladas. Churro had no cinnamon so it was a fried stick.

This has always been one of my favorite places to eat. After more than 20 years of patronage, I’ve never been disappointed. Fantastic salsa and shredded beef.Kid-friendliness: Kids can play around in the front windows. They have some games and candy/toy machines.

Steak fajitas taste awful meat dry. Terrible service 20minyte wait for Peach margaritas couldn't taste Peach only tequilla.waitress disappeared and 40 minutes for food. Once owner showed better service. Place only had 6 tables and 4 servers. Very disappointed.

My husband and I are transplants from Southwest Colorado so are always on the lookout for good Mexican food. This place was good, service was friendly, atmosphere was nice, reasonable prices. Clean restrooms too! We would come back.Wheelchair accessibility: Zero stairs to enterDietary restrictions: I adhere to a low carb, no sugar diet and enjoyed the grilled chicken tapatio salad (asked them to omit croutons and tomato)
