Rose Motel

The Rose Motel is the only place to stay in this small Nebraska town off a two-lane highway. The older motel needs cosmetic work and its exterior can be off-putting, but the rooms themselves are consistently reported as very clean, with spotless bathrooms, clean sheets, and comfortable beds with fluffy pillows. There are significant drawbacks, however. The doors lack proper locks or deadbolts, and the owner is known to perform unexpected room checks, entering rooms during the day even when occupants are out. The walls are thin, allowing noise from neighbors. Specific rooms have issues: Room 20 has no hot water, and Room 23 has many cats. Policies are inconsistent, with reports of guests being charged different prices for the same room and being denied full refunds for early departures. While the owner is described as friendly and accommodating, and the location is walkable to a gas station and store, many guests state they only stayed out of necessity and would choose a different motel in a nearby town if possible.
