I love this store and have been shopping here since i was 13 years old (I am now 31) up until last week when wine and spirits was closed off, if you asked a worker you would be let in. suddenly tonight we asked multiple times and they would not let us in. it’s barely 10pm and alcohol sales in this state are allowed until 1am. Why refuse a sale? why refuse someone who only wanted one thing and knew exactly where it was. it would have taken 5 seconds… they lied and said it was new hyvee policy but i looked up hyvee policies and it said nothing about not letting people in while the sale of alcohol was still legal. it was clear the manger on shift just didn’t want to open it for us. they’ve done it before so why lie. there were plenty of staff waiting for us to check out. we weren’t disruptive or rude, just wanted to know why we couldn’t do something we did a week ago.

Pharmacy: went to ask about an over the counter med and the staff was very rude! Said it wasn’t in the persons file but that’s their fault, should have put a comment in. Rude towards me so I went to look for it again and never got help. Zero stars!

Great deli side with lots of options for vegetarians. I was able to get a delicious spicy hummus with sugar snap peas as part of my dinner when I got into town too late to get dinner at a restaurant. I picked up plenty of delicious choices for breakfasts and snacks while I was working in Fremont. All of the staff was helpful and kind.

It's Hyvee! What more is there to say? Quality meat, produce, and a restaurant attached.
Now, the bad. I remind myself why I don't like going in here on Wednesday mornings, after I'm standing in the checkout with the other six people waiting!
HYVEE, YOU HAVE SELF CHECKOUT!!!! OPEN THEM AND THERE WILL NEVER BE SIX PEOPLE IN LINE WAITING FOR ANOTHER CHECKOUT TO OPEN!!!

I live in Ankeny and this is the closest HyVee to my place so this is the one I go to. With that being said I'm glad this is the one closest to me since all of the employees are always helpful and so nice! Keep up the great work guys!!
