They would not let me adopt a dog I bonded with. He was available for adoption. But I was not allowed to adopt him even though I had the fee. They refuse to give a reason why others. Then I wrote pomsky on a page they gave me . I feel judged a d persecuted . I am going to contact the director of the Central Nebraska humane societies board of trustees end. I'm also going to contact the United States humane society organization directly. If you can't abide by your own rules, then you shouldn't be doing that job. Read the other reviews on this page and see the evidence of her bias. Thank you

Staff is unnecessary rude, not only in person but on their social media sites. Terrible organization, consider start over rover or voice for companion animals.

I will never set foot in this place ever again, I had the worst experience here today. I went yesterday (Wednesday) to look for a kitten, I currently have a rescue cat and felt it was time we got her a sister. I was told they don't do adoptions on Wednesdays which was OK because they also told me they needed a current rabies vaccine for my kitty. So I made an appointment to get my cats rabies booster done today. I went out to visit with the kitten before my cats appointment to make sure we had a good bond, my boyfriend accompanied me and we both fell in love. We visited and played for like an hour, then it was time for our vet visit so we informed the worker we were going straight home to get our cat, take her to the vet, and then come straight back. We did just that, we weren't gone for an hour and when we got back they had the kitten in the visiting room with other people. I went to the desk and told the lady working that we were back for the kitten that was in the visiting room. The lady was so rude and cocky and told us that since we left it was first come first serve and said she could let us visit another animal and if the other people didn't adopt the cat we could. I was so irritated I told her I didn't want to visit another animal. 2 days planning for this kitten and in 1 hour they let someone else take it when they knew I was coming back for her. No morals in this place. My boyfriend and I took today off for this and it truly ruined my day. I left and drove to kearney animal shelter and found a kitty we love. Staff at central nebraska humane society are rude and just ready to auction off animals to the fastest bidder. Negative stars.

I adopted an adult cat from them and he is the sweetest boy in the world. They were so helpful from start to finish during the adoption process and are always open to answering any questions I have.

Went in to possibly adopt the dog today and they said sorry. The kennels are closed, We can't have you walked through..... How is anybody gonna adopt these dogs? If you can't go in and see their personalities.

Staff obliviously do not do their homework with the dogs cause the dog we adopted was not good with high energy dogs. She became aggressive and wanted to fight. We did not get a refund even though we only had her a day and a half. Very miss represented by staff. They need training to evaluate the animals. Very bad experience. Wont adopt there ever again

We found a dog there we loved. I called and ask if he was still there and the lady said yes. When we got there the dog was gone he got adopted hours before my call. The lady lied and told me he was there when he was not.

Beware of the this place, they do not care to reach out if they find your pet even if you’ve contacted them regarding your pet going missing. They will rehome or euthanize your pet knowing your missing it. Absolutely disgusting.

I have contacted the state and city regarding the illegal activities going on at this place for rehoming dogs that are missing. IT IS ILLEGAL TO REHOME A DOG WITHOUT TRYING TO LOOK FOR OWNERS. Wonder what other illegal things they are doing here.

If I could give a negative star rather than a one star I would. My mom lost her two fur babies from Dannebrog on March 12th as of whom she loved immensely and immediately registered them as missing to Central Nebraska Humane Society and other locations in hopes that they would help return them home if found. She has been stressed out to the max since while searching endlessly as they were apart of our family. Recently, a dog that looked just like one of them was listed. Mom didn't recieve any call or indication that they had this dog that looked identical to one of her missing pups and she was adopted out to a new owner. She tried reaching out on their post on facebook and they blocked her from commenting any further. Truly disappointing and right before the holidays! I just want to say thanks for making my mom bawl her eyes out, lose sleep and throw up from the stress of the loss of her babies all over again! What a WONDERFUL way to celebrate the 4th!!!! Im truly disgusted and i hope nobody else ever has to EVER witness this or personally go through it. So very tragic & heartbreaking.

Me and my gf recently adopted an 8 yr old dachsund from this place. From the first phone call all the way to the end of the adoption these folks were kind curtious and deffinately cared about the animals. We originally came in to look at her and spent the manditory 30 mins with her even tho we could tell at first sight that this lil girl was the perfect addition to our family. Then we had to do the meet and greet with my current dog. He is a 12 yr old dachshund and came from a shelter himself. Whenever we take him to the vet or one of these institutions he is kind of sketchy cant blame him. The handlers did very well and even tho the dogs didnt get along great the asked us if we would like to do a second meet and greet. So we scheduled one for 2 days later just hoping and praying that she would still be there. When we went back the 2nd meet and greet with the dogs went well and we were able to adopt. Deffinatley would deal with this place again and all of the staff there were A+++
