As a parent, I wanted to share something I recently learned the hard way—something I wish I had known sooner.
My 5-year-old daughter hurt her arm after a close call falling off the bed. A family member instinctively grabbed her arm to catch her, and afterward, she wouldn’t move it. There was no swelling or bruising, but she was clearly in pain. We took her to urgent care, had an X-ray (which was hard for her), and were told nothing was broken. We were sent home with a sling and ibuprofen.
She didn’t improve. The next day, I took her to her regular pediatrician, and within minutes, they suspected nursemaid’s elbow—a common injury in young kids when a ligament slips out of place. It can happen from something as simple as swinging a child by the arms or catching them as they fall. The doctor did a quick and gentle maneuver, and just like that—my daughter was back to normal.
I’m sharing this because I had never heard of nursemaid’s elbow before, and it turns out it’s incredibly common in toddlers and preschoolers. If your little one suddenly refuses to use an arm or cries when it’s moved—especially after being pulled or lifted—it’s worth asking about.
This isn’t to criticize any one provider or clinic. I’m grateful for the care we’ve received across the Methodist system. I just hope this helps another parent recognize the signs and avoid a delay in relief like we experienced.

Do not recommend. We brought our one year old here today (Sunday) and they didn’t open at noon which was the time listed on the door and online. There were 5-6 other patients in line waiting to get in. Apparently they just didn’t open today. We all sat and waited 30 minutes until someone called another Methodist and asked what was going on. Very unprofessional. We will not be back to this urgent care. I do not recommend anyone else going to it either.

On 9-28-2023, we took our son to the Urgent Care in Gretna due to having a high fever and stomach ache for two days. We got to see the doctor right away, and she listened to the rest of the symptoms and told us to take our son to the ER right away because she determined that it was probably his appendix. She was correct, and he had an emergency surgery that same night! We want to give Gretna Methodist Urgent Care staff our heartfelt gratitude for being so amazing. Thank you!

They are not actually an urgent care, they a physicians clinic that does after hours care so your insurance gets billed as if it’s a physicians visit. So my insurance would not cover them even though i asked every time if they took my insurance and they said yes.

Was told wait time would be 1 1/2 hours. After 3 hours I am still sitting in the waiting room. Wondering how long I will sit in my assigned room once my name is called. They obviously need more help!

Sitting here for over 2hrs, appears the issues of taking forever have not been resolved. Owners don’t care how long it takes, they’ll still get your money.

Sunday service was horrible. Five people in line and it took almost two hours to be seen. 50 mins of that was waiting in a room with no one even stopping in to give updates. Never waited this long at Millard urgent care. Wish I lived closer to a place that staffed enough or cared more. Next time I’ll drive further for better everything.

Horrible service. Second time we have gone and had to wait 2 hours before even seeing a nurses, once we went in had to wait another 45 mins to see the doctor. Both times we didn’t get the help we needed. Once time was very rude to my daughter, second time my husband didn’t get tested for what he should of and now has to go see another doctor.

This is our favorite urgent care! Thorough, top notch care with an xray on hand, and they get you in and out relatively quickly. I've taken all four of my kids, from babies to teens.

This place is a joke. I took my daughter in for an allergic reaction and the doctor looked at her arm and said to give her zertec. There was no physical exam preformed at all. The doctor was in the room for maybe 2 minutes total. I didn’t receive any discharge information. The doctor scribbled 1/2 teaspoon once a day down on a piece of scratch paper and sent us home. I will be filing a formal complaint.
