Crossroads staff helped pull me from a very dark place in my life. I'm eternally grateful!

To all those complaining about crossroads you seem very ungrateful. It's a roof over your head until you get on your feet. Follow the simple rules be humble and grateful. Don't like it to bad sleep in the streets it's that simple.

Says open 24 hours I've called three times and still can't get anybody to answer the phone come on this is a homeless shelter in Kearney Nebraska people have domestic violence and then they get kicked out of their house and have nowhere to go and it is 17 freaking degrees outside You're going to have people running the front at night maybe they should be able to stay awake so they can run it

I believe this organization is definitely needed!!! The need for transitional housing for all is in high demand and they just dont have enough space. They really need to add more apartments/services to cover the demanding and growing need. Too many get turned away or placed on a very long waiting list! This year alone, 2022, the demand has risen 46%!It's just too bad that there aren't more services like this in the tri-city area for everyone (disabled, elderly, families, both young and old alike). The rooms are compact nice and clean. Of course the 2 ADA (handicap accessible rooms were taken) which is what my friend needs, as he is disabled and elderly.I hope they are able to build a better design for those who have to share a room. The single rooms have waiting lists so if you need a placement your stuck sharing a room with a total stranger. At least give them their own bedroom for privacy and safety. My friend was offered a double room but the double rooms are just a single room with bunk beds. The bathroom is private but who is comfortable sleeping next to a total stranger? Also, my friend could never get up to the top bunk since he is disabled and has multiple health issues.I understand that these are transitional rooms, meaning, they aren't supposed to live there for an indefinite amount of time but this isn't the safest plan.I am appreciative there are places like this, just not enough.Such a huge need for too many.

This place has terrible management and will be writing a book (memior) of getting clean being forced to live there. The ugly side of this so called Christian facility.

My dad was living there. Had a phone stolen, no one did a thing about it. He ended up in the hospital and when we went back to get his stuff and they had thrown it away. No phone call or anything to come pick it up. Was told they “don’t have time” to call everyone, and I totally get that if he would have just left that it should be thrown away or donnated. But they literally drove him to the hospital, where he stayed for a week, then threw everything he had in the trash knowing his situation. Garbage “mission” if you ask me with really good Christian people??? HA.

Daily community meals. Best food I've ever had prepared for free.
