The price was good and the room was ok, but the low rating is for the following experiences: First off, I got in very late at night and was trying to get 6-7 hours of sleep before getting back on the road for 10+ hours of driving. After less than 5 hours of sleep, I was awakened by a call from the front desk saying there was a noise complaint and asking "us" to keep it down. I explained that I'd been sleeping and was the only one in the room, and the desk clerk said, "well, just try to keep it down." Are you kidding me? Apparently she couldn't be bothered to check out the complaint for herself before giving sleeping guests a wake-up call they didn't ask for. Aside from the insulting and unfounded accusation, this was downright dangerous as it interrupted my sleep before a long day of driving. Took me over 30 minutes to fall back asleep. When I went to check out, this same desk clerk was nowhere to be found and I had to wait 5-10 minutes for service. There was no bell, or note, or number to call, or anything. Outside, there were multiple large piles of dog poop along the edge of the parking, and the garbage cans were overflowing badly (multiple locations, not just one). The parking lot was also very icy in the morning. I nearly slipped and fell as I was loading up my car. There hadn't been any ice melt or anything put down, despite the ice having been left by a storm several days prior. The building itself has an overpowering smoky smell, although it was more subtle (but still noticable) in the room. One of the beds seemed pretty worn out and had no support, but the other was more firm. The entrance is off a frontage road, so you have to turn before you pass it or you'll have to go down to the next intersection. Overall, the property does not seem well managed or maintained, and I would not stay here if I go back this way again, despite the price.

The room was ok. My toilet ran constantly, I would like to think for a king room that it would have a bigger TV. I was placed in a room by the entrance. The breakfast trash. Staff was not polite and uninviting.

Dirty, just very dirty. My biggest thing in this life that I can’t stand is other people’s hair, and there was a huge glob of it on the shower wall. The mold around the edge of the tub was pretty bad also. Probably because the vent fan is falling off the ceiling. Also small spatters on the walls and door, puke possibly? Who knows? I understand it was a pet friendly room to accommodate that I did have a dog and should expect a little worse maybe, but this was just human filth and laziness. I recommend getting new housekeepers or paying them enough that they care. This was room 206 if you would like to clean them up for the next guest, since I’m sure it’s still there after housekeeping went through today. But at least I got to start my day off with a nice black banana! Too bad they are so expensive that you can’t afford some fresher ones.

(**I saw your response to this review. Does that mean we can get a refund? We haven't been able to reach anyone)Roaches and dirt. We were LIED to about not being charged once we decided to leave not even 3 hours after checking in! We were charged for the full stay although literally checking in for 2 hours and leaving due to the bugs and dirt. She didn't seem surprised to find out about the bugs. No effort on their part to rectify anything. Very disappointed to have been treated this way. I don't want anyone else to get burned this way.

Your typical lower end hotel. For the price, it's pretty decent, as it's not lacking any basic amenities. The staff seem friendly and helpful enough. It's in a good location, near to I-80 with several resturaunts and a local supermarket nearby. Certain sections of the hotel are used as long term housing, and the property could use some updating, although some of this appears to be in progress. I would suggest it as a budget friendly hotel.

got to check in at 12:30 a.m. went up to the second floor. there was no carpet on the stairs and the hallway was loose square carpet tiles. there is and overwhelming stench of cat urine in the building and it is dirty. went into the room and it also smelled of urine. what was left of the carpet was heavily stained and dirty. one bed was made and the other was not. it looked like it had just been slept on. the bathroom was also not cleaned. i had to kill a very large cricked also in the room. we left and went to another motel.

Was not the nicest place weve ever been, but it was a saturday evening, and I think her name was Terry at the front desk was absolutely the sweetest, and most helpfull. She got us a room in the "additional building", and it was nice. But not only that, she just was kind, with a wonderful sence of humor, and understanding of our in toen situation. Our only complaint would be the "full timers" we had hanging around between our room, and the front desk. Thank you Terry ?

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! If you have a reservation to stay here, cancel it immediately and stay somewhere else. The outside entry was littered with trash and cigarette butts and piles of dirt. The rooms - I can't even. There were "stains" on just about every surface that was material (see pictures). The lamp shades were broken and the vent in the bathroom was so gross. The keys didn't work and had to go back to the front desk 3 times for that. The cleanest part was the bathtub and that is what I slept in. It is also very obvious that it is not really a hotel as there are many people that are living there. We got in super late after a long day of travel and had no other options or I would have left. We informed the front desk of our concerns and they obviously did not care.If I could give this place a negative # of stars, I would have

This lodging was a disappointment. And I did want to like it. The most favorable way to describe the lodging experience here is "below average" and "budget." It is certainly a low cost option for travelers in Kearney. And for some that may be enough. Positives: the property has some good driving access from the freeway, and easy access to a couple of dining options. It has some serviceable tables and chairs in the breakfast area. The front desk staff were friendly, and they tried very hard to be helpful. The simple breakfast was provided on time every day. It was weak coffee, coffee mate creamer, milk, diet yogurt, cereal, oranges, self made waffles, and coffee. Negatives: neither of the electronic key cards they gave us the first day worked. We had to get the front desk staff to open our door. The next day the key cards barely worked after 8 tries so we asked for new cards at the desk. Front desk staff said that maintenance would be called to change the batteries in the door lock, and that maintenance would need access to our room to fix it. The next morning we still needed several tries to open the door with the cards. Why couldn't this hotel proactively monitor their door lock system to change the batteries in a timely manner, so the key cards always work? Or get a new key system to avoid this hassle? Also, I initially asked for a "non-pet" room when I booked, due to allergies. The front desk said they can't guarantee that pets have never been in the room. The room we were in had mostly carpet, so if people sneak in their pets, it's not clear that the carpets can be adequately cleaned to remove pet dander. I had no allergy problems, but I would at least be aware of this if I had a pet allergy. At the very least, if the hotel is not going to confront guest who bring in dogs and cats, they should remove all the carpeting, and replace with "wood vinyl" flooring that is easier for staff to clean. The fire alarm went off at 6 am the second morning. It woke us up but we didn't leave because there was no fire. I asked at the desk why the fire alarm in our room kept going off at 6 am? The front desk said a "steam pipe in the laundry broke, and set off the alarm." I was going to ask for a partial refund for being awakened for no reason, but I didn't. But it troubles me that a property like this would not have been on top of inspecting the hotel infrastructure to learn if a pipe is failing, so it can be proactively repaired. Especially a steam pipe in a laundry room. There was also a floor lamp in our room with a crack in the post near the "on-off" switch. I think even a budget hotel should provide electric appliances that are not cracked. The mattresses were old and sagged in the middle. So not a very comfortable nights sleep. We also came in about 9 pm through the electronic side door. Someone had put the floor mat into the doorway to defeat the electronic security door. We dragged the carpet back into place so the electronic security door locked properly. If a guest did that to let others into the hotel without the electronic security code, maybe that's not the management's fault. But at the very least, the management could secure the floor mat to the floor so it can't be stuffed into the doorway and used to defeat a security device the hotel thought to install. Budget hotels certainly play an important part in travel. You pay less, and you get less. But you should be able to get a good nights sleep. And the hotel should be on top of all maintenance issues and security devices like keys and outdoor security locks on the property.

Worst Experience Ever!!! 1. The night front desk receptionist tells my husband that we only booked one room. Not a big deal he calls me and I come in and explain to her that the reservation was 2 rooms and show her the itinerary/ receipt. She asked for my ID. I complied. Then she is snippy when she says well I need a card to put on file for incidentals. Again not a problem. I hand her the card. She throw 4 cards in one sleeve and my husband asked her if this was for both rooms. She says this is a non smoking facility. We both say ok. She hands me a sheet of paper and ask me to initial and sign because this is a non smoking facility if you smoke in here you will be fined 250 dollars so I said that is fine. She keeps repeating that it is a non smoking facility until I finally ask her is she the manager. She stops and says why. I said so I can know who I can file a complaint with. She said I'm not the manager but I can call the manager. We said please do. Then she states I'm not calling the manager it's late and that's rude to call this late at night. I can get you a complaint for. I said yes that would be great. Then she said I'm not giving you a form. I told her you offered and we agreed we would like to speak to a manager and she refused. Then she told us if we were going to be like this she wouldn't rent to us and to stop talking and sign the form. I told her that is disrespectful and poor customer service we are paying customers and that is not how you treat customers. She said look just sign the forms and the rooms are non smoking. I said can I have the contact information for you manager or corporate office. She told me to leave and that we couldn't stay there. I told her that is fine, but I need a refund to be processed before I leave and she threatened to call the police on me and have me removed. Mind you me and my husband do not smoke anything but, cigarettes and him the mini cigars from time to time. Never in any of our rooms. We have a stellar bnb rating from our stays in those. I told her I will call the police for you, because I have done nothing wrong. I called the police and they said it was a civil matter and they wouldn't send anyone out. She tells us she cant issue a refund and only night audi can. We call her corporate office to launch a complaint since she refused to allow us to talk to management after she offered. My husband was on the phone with corporate and I got on the phone with Expedia since I booked through thier app. While we are on the phone making reports so that we can be refunded she starts texting perfusely, I keep to the task requesting my refund and she calls the police They come and she lies saying that we had an attitude with her etc., that she issued the refund, and that her manager was on the way. I waited for to finish and explained my side to the police, the officers were very nice and recommended a few places to stay in the area that were nice. Will post again with an update from what corporate does to resolve the situation. We end up staying at the AmeriLodge and we had a much better experience with them.
