I bought the Blueprint 396 stroker for my 71 Camaro. Came crated nice no issues there. Got it installed and fired right up. The only issue I had was it ran really rich. Changed some jets and power valves and it's good. Tech support at BP was helpful with both install and carb turning. I would recommend BP engines to anyone.

Bought a 383 stroker engine from Summit Racing and had the engine professionally installed in my 1970 Nova SS Show car. This engine had been serviced every 2500 miles. I have driven this car to many car shows in the past 26 months. Last month i dove the car down to get it ready for storsge . Got home opened the hood and had massive blow by. Called the shop where i had the engine installed. We have found a piece of the piston was broke off. There warranty on these engines are a joke. This piston broke from a poor casting issue. Found chunks of the piston in the pan and who knows where else it ended up. stay clear of these engines or you will end up having a boat anchor in your garge too.

Bought a 350 long block, had to pull intake because of leaks, the block was so corroded wasnt even funny. Called marshall and they said to send it back they would warranty it. I sent it back and they they said it was fine, any shade tree mechanic would say otherwise. They refused to replaced it... Thanks but no thanks.

Pretty ashamed of a company that can't pull up a simple check of one of their small block chevy 350 engines from Summit Racing some years back. There was some tweaks we ran into while putting the customers engine back together. One of my employees decided to do the right thing and just check with the manufacturer (First Mate Engines) on thier specific initial and total timing requirements. Yes, its easy to just do a standard timing but we like to talk to the manufacturer/OEM to make sure our process is correct to a T!My employee gave First Mate thier engine part number and asked about initial timing and total timing as a friendly call. He got back a "I don't know" and "I can't pull it up" attitude. Not helpful at all from my employees perspective and just beside himself.I've personally called First Mate on another issue, (internal parts issues) with thier engines and it was like pulling teeth to get the information.I've dealt with Blueprint Engines and other high performance automotive engine builders and always recieved the utmost professional respect and courtesy that goes both ways in this industry and never had any problems from Blueprint or anyone else.As a matter of fact, simple questions leads to a meaningful conversation about thier company, knowledge, product line and possible future sales. It's what exactly happened to me to recommend Proformabuilt Transmissions for example, they were excellent answering a question and that lead to a customer of mine ordering $3,800 4l60e performance built transmission for his hot rod project. It's actually a fun and rewarding to call the gals and guys over at Blueprint Engines which I also recommend to customers depending on specific builds/projects.First Mate needs to do a better job of Customer Service and speaking with customers and custom shops like mine we recommend more than what you think!! For specific builds and customers. Even answering simple questions are good for your reputation and future business. It's companies like Blueprint Engines, Proformabuilt and others that really take pride and know the meaning of no matter how small or simple the question is, being helpful, going above and beyond and getting that answer goes a long way with future business and repeat sales."Learn Me or I am a Lesson"

I own a 31’ Tiara with twin 454’s, 4 bolt mains.I purchased a counter rotating rebuilt motor from First Mate Marine Engines and received a 2 bolt main replacement. I am a Charter Boat in Mackinaw City Michigan and am extremely busy, looking for a quick fix, hoping to find a reputable company. 100hrs and 40 days later the motor detonated on power up. Break-in procedures and oil change were followed all levels were correct and engine was not running hot. I paid the $750 core charge, Thank God, and kept my old block. After speaking with Ken the warranty man, it’s apparent that the customer comes last and the only justice I’ll come close to getting will be in the court system. Please Please don’t use this company and end up in my situation. Ken stated “ If it’s got a burnt valve it’s not covered by warranty and there is No Way we are taking the motor back for full refund. I haven’t taken anything apart yet but I can see this is going south quickly. I paid well over a thousand to have the motor installed and If it’s covered by their warranty they will pay $750. I am a reputable Hard Working Charter Captain, I keep the boat maintained and all gear top notch. No Fish No Pay, too bad this company doesn’t stand behind what they do. I would never treat a customer that way. Keeping the customer satisfied Means Everything. We don’t beat on our equipment but it’s used everyday. Don’t do business with this company and find yourself in this position of looking for a court remedy to get a fair shake. It’s expensive and regrettable !!

Ordered a LS-3 6.2 Liter engine from them. Each engine is individually built and comes with it's own Dyno sheet and serial number. The advertised horsepower of my engine was 530 hp actual horsepower on the dynamometer was 549 and 519 foot pounds of torque!! That was a nice surprise. I ordered the engine as a complete set up. It came with the wiring harnesses, Drive by wire gas pedal, alternator, Power steering pump, Air conditioning compressor, intake manifold, fuel injectors, spark plugs, coil packs, drive by wire 4 inch throttle body, fan belt, and I special ordered the black pulley dress up kit. The cylinder heads have their name and logo machined into them.It takes them about 8 weeks to get it to your door after ordering it. The only items it does not come with are the exhaust manifolds, thermostat, and thermostat housing cap, other wise it's complete. I have made numerous calls to the company and asked for tech help, I was always pleasantly surprised to get someone to speak to every time. The motor is just STUNNING, I checked there exterior work very carefully, I got to say these people know what they are doing and pay attention to detail I can tell that they take pride in their workmanship. I would not hesitate to order a engine from them.

I recently started working on my 1969 Ford Torino after it been sitting for over 4 year. I'm finally digging around trying to figure out what type of engine I have. I was told that the previous believed they had installed a blueprint crate motor but was not sure so I wrote a email and Josh Geiselman from blueprint got back to me and was very helpful. Even though I didn't buy an engine from them, he was very helpful, patient and polite to help me try to figure out. Unfortunately seems like my engine is not from blueprint but my next one definitely will be! Great experience and very happy!
