It is a nice and huge gallery, but I found all the art to be amateurish. The prices weren't justified by the quality of the art. Sorry.

I went to the first Friday 9/3/21 not wearing a mask/muzzle/diaper as I can't wear it for medical reasons an exemption allowed in the abusive law. This nosy, creepy old guy says to wear a mask but I tell him why I can't and then go into a studio room. As I come out this total creep is all up in my face closer than 6 feet too no less saying I have to wear a mask even though I can't for medical reasons and he says your medical exemption is fine but I have to leave anyways ge

Wow! I had walked by this amazing gallery countless times in the Haymarket area without exploring beyond the public art display of the "blue hands." Thank goodness the Nebraska Passport included the Burkholder Project on their tour this year! Three floors of museum quality artwork by Nebraska artists are on display and available for purchase. If I understood our greeter correctly, the building that houses the gallery was one of the first renovations in the Haymarket district, opening in 1987. There is no admission (there could be--the art is that good!) Free and metered parking is readily available depending on how willing you are to walk. The special exhibit featured Nebraska landscapes and they were awe inspiring. Working studios are mixed in with display areas and I felt like I was on a game show wondering what was behind door number three, four, five and six! I enjoyed seeing the finished pieces as well as those being developed in the working studios. Prices for artwork was at both extremes--super expensive and easily affordable. I left with two pieces from Tom Hart's "Dear Hearts" project, and I have an inkling that I will be purchasing a few more on future visits! The building is listed as handicap accessible, but navigating the multiple levels would be a challenge--especially the lower level. Everyone was friendly and helpful as we explored the gallery. I will be back to the Burkholder project. It's location is perfect in the Haymarket area with close proximity to restaurants and other novelties.

Met Ms. Burkholder, and Pamela, today! I've marked it on my calendar as an 'event' to remember! Awesome, doesn't begin to describe the experience. This gallery is not to be missed. The Farmer's Market is at the doorstep... the Haymarket, just beyond. I want to live there!
