American National Bank and its leadership, specifically Suzi Sterba should be ashamed of their customer service. As a Hispanic woman who owns a business, I am inclined to share that I was not treated with equality. Suzi Sterba manages her team in a way where they are afraid to make decisions and communicate what is going on. I do not recommend American National Bank as a result of this experience.

Making monthly payments online with this bank is a nightmare. It is difficult to find the website for payments. When you make a payment and receive confirmation number often times the payments doesn't go through. When inquiring about it with them they deny any problem and place all blame one you. They also charge $10.00 every month to make an online or phone payment. Wake up America National Bank its nearly 2022.

After some fraud on my account, losing access to both my accounts, and having no communication, I drove through this location for some help and Jerry McCarthy ended up taking over the situation to help me get everything taken care of in a timely manner. With everything going on, most of the time I was only able to do things over the phone but Jerry took matters into his own hands and helped me out when I had no idea what to do and no access to my money. Monday morning he took care of closing everything, great communication along the way, and got me back up and running that morning so I would finally have access to my money. Although another branch closed accounts withOUT my permission and withOUT proper communication, Jerry righted the ship and changed my attitude towards the banks. Thank god for good ppl like him. Thanks a million, this is my new location!

If you are looking for a home loan - stay far away from this place! I worked with Scott Yelick. I found him online as a qualified NIFA lender. I call him and ask him some questions and his availability. I asked him if I could come in person and we could discuss further about the pre-qualification process. He says well how about we just do it over the phone, I just have a few questions and we can get started. That should of been a red flag, but I didn't think anything of it, and continued. He gave him a pre-approval, not based on my income but based on an average of what my comfortable level of a monthly payment would be. Fast forward I find a house, make an offer, and go through underwriting. I was denied 23 hours before closing! That's not what angers me, I get it, if you can't approve me, ok that's fine. What bothers me is it was 23 hours before closing, communications was HORRIBLE! When it was time to sign papers to go through underwriting everything he wanted to do was over email. I am a first time home buyer, how about you meet with me and go through the documents you want me to sign! He agreed, the meeting was not information, and was short and quick! Also the day ANB denies me I ask him if my card would be charged for the appraisal, he says he doesn't know, also asked him for the letter of denial, he said he would get back to me. That was 12/28/17. They try to charge my card for the appraisal same day, no one got back to me. Mind I asked him cause I knew the charge would be denied, and I would need to give him updated information. I received the denial in the mail a week or so later. SMH! Fast forward to today 1/5/18 he sends me the first email. "We tried to charge your card, but it was denied, please send me information on a card we can charge". Grrrrrr, this is why I asked him. Fast forward some of the small details, I end up giving him updated information to charge my card after requesting an invoice. They charge me. I asked for a receipt. He forward me a receipt with a change of conversation from his fellow co-workers dating back to the 28th. With them discussing trying to charge me and the charge was denied. Them asking him to reach out to me. He says he does, and he states I ignored him and he doubts I will respond! HE NEVER REACHED OUT TO ME UNTIL 01/05/18 (TODAY). This guy is not professional and he's a lier and irresponsible! PLEASE save your self the headache and go somewhere else, PLEASE! The whole process was a headache and I felt like I had to squeeze the little information I got from them. A company that you choose to make the biggest decision of your life should make you feel at easy, should have great communication skills, and be transparent through the whole process! American National Bank in Omaha, NE is not who you want to work with!

Not the go-to bank anymore. They started to get weird like the rest of the banks here in Nebraska. Sorry ANB is a No-go.
