The Florence Mill originated as the 1846 Winter Quarters gristmill on the Mormon Trail. A National Register Historic site, restoration began in 1998 & is now a cultural & heritage tourism attraction connecting agriculture, history & art. First floor houses a museum. Second floor is the ArtLoft studio & gallery. The Sunday Farmers Market brings contemporary agriculture to a formerly dilapidated Mill & Grain Elevator. (Sunday’s 10-3 from June through September with live music, food trucks & critter encounters.) Note: Without heat or water, the Florence Mill hibernates thru winter: from mid-October to mid-May.
wonderful piece of history. The seasonal farmers market is the best in Omaha!

We didn't visit the museum, but went to the weekend Farmers market. Very small market, but pretty cool vendors. Highly suggest going to the sourdough tent, great bread by a pretty cool Veteran!
