From Winter Quarters Mill Museum

The Florence Mill originated as the 1846 Winter Quarters gristmill on the Mormon Trail. A National Register Historic site, restoration began in 1998. It is now a cultural & heritage tourism attraction connecting agriculture, history & art. First floor houses a museum. Second floor is the ArtLoft studio & gallery. The Sunday Farmers Market brings contemporary agriculture to a formerly dilapidated, obsolete Mill & Grain Elevator. (Sunday’s 10-3 from June through September.) Without heat or water, the Florence Mill hibernates thru winter: from mid-October to mid-May.
