Freedom Park is a historic museum featuring incredible exhibits including the USS Hazard ship and a submarine. It offers an amazing and thrilling experience with so much history. The park is free to visit, though donations are welcome. The park is exclusively led by volunteers who are amazing, knowledgeable, and kind. These veterans donate their time and effort to share incredible stories about the ship and submarine. Most of the USS Hazard is open to the public, allowing visitors to see a great deal of the interior, and it is kept in great condition. Information is provided about the exhibits with signs inside the ship and on the guns. The park is recovering from past flooding. Currently, the submarine is not open for tours, but it can be seen from the ship. The park has no running water and only one portable toilet. It is open limited hours, typically on Saturdays, due to its volunteer operation. The access road is a minimum maintenance road that is closed when the park is not open. Despite some challenges with upkeep, it is a very cool place well worth the trip, offering a unique and fascinating visit.
Such an amazing thrilling experience. The volunteers were amazing and knowledgeable of what they did.And what they've been through is probably one of the coolest museums i've ever been too
