It seems they don't cover Dexcom, which is very disappointing, most insurance companies cover that by now. The billing department is nice but they don't know much about American Healthcare and the consequences of going on Medicaid.

I will never sign up with Medica again. My diabetic medication Janumet that I was taking for 3 years now could not be refilled till my doctor willed uot a bunch of paperwork and the special branch sent me and my doctor a letter saying "yes, now that we scrutinized this for several weeks you can have these meds". Even worse, you cannot get manufacturer coupon to get meds at affordable price, any time I try to get Merck coupon with Medica insurance it is denied. $200/mo cost to refill, have to order meds from Canada again.

NEVER sign up for Medica health insurance!! In over twenty years with a chronic health condition of my own, and five years with a daughter with significant health needs, I have never been so appalled by a company. I have spent HOURS on the phone in the two months we have been insured by Medica. In my previous two decades of insurance coverage through BCBS and Aetna, I’ve probably spent a total of four hours. We have serious medication needs that must be met in a timely fashion or we end up hospitalized. With Medica, be warned that you a need 3-4 week head start, and 17hrs on the phone to refill a monthly prescription. (And even then, you could be in our position and still get them 5-10 days late). Their phone reps are very kind, and seem helpful, but they don’t actually solve any problems, they just keep you going in circles. The result is that you don’t get what you need AND you’ve lost valuable hours. I highly recommend that you find a Blue Cross Blue Shield plan, but bottom line, never give Medica control of your health.

Terrible. Earlier this year, Medica messed up their internal paperwork and canceled my policy. I only found out about it when I went to the doctor and the nurse told me my insurance was no longer current. I called medica and got the whole runaround of a bunch of people not knowing what they're doing and denying responsibility, blaming my insurance agent, etc. Finally got them to reinstate my policy but the whole mess cost me about 16 hours away from my work in dealing with medica and their poorly trained, apathetic staff. Now I finally have a new job which has insurance benefits, and I'm trying to get my medica policy canceled but medica can't seem to do that right either. So if you choose medica, make sure you open and examine every single piece of mail as soon as you receive it (and they do send a LOT of paperwork), and be prepared to do battle should you ever need to contact them.

I have made 7 phone calls to insure they were paid and I have coverage they have thier money but I keep getting cryptic letters that see to say that I don't have insurance. Looks fine on thier part online so no problem they will send me another letter. Maybe this one will make sense. If you want to know why I we shouldn't have insurance companies call these people I am sure you will understand why they need to be put out of business. If I had a choice it would never be Medica.

THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY! I signed up for this insurance and immediately regret it. I've been trying to get my insurance ID cards for over 3 months now and still don't have them. I've spoken with multiple customer service people spending an hour on hold and each ones tells me a different story. They assure me the issue is resolved but it isn't. The billing is also a nightmare to deal with. Don't ever use Medica.

Bad choice Medica. Well over 1K monthly premiums for what? 7 emails sent over 5 months and still no reply. Telephone? Run around as well. Perfered doctor in network, we pay $180 and Medica pays 30 bucks! Standard office visit. Even the doctors billing office says, Medica is a bad choice.Medication? We still pays 100% from Costco.Pharmacy says, nightmare dealing with Medica. Doctors office has called Medica on medication issue to no avail.
