The Mormon Trail Center at Winter Quarters is a visitors’ center with exhibits about the westward migration of Latter-day Saints. It is situated on the historic location of Winter Quarters, a temporary settlement on the Mormon Trail. The museum has amazing displays and a great, interesting video to watch. The exhibit and video were great. The collection of artifacts is modest in size, but each item is thoughtfully documented and enhanced with replicas and engaging storytelling. The people and tour guides are very helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and fabulous. A visit provides a better understanding of the challenges the pioneers went through. The buildings and landscaping are amazing and well designed. Next to the center are the Mormon Trail Cemetery and the Winter Quarters Temple. It is recommended to explore the cemetery and the site is free to visit.
Amazing heritage and stories. It was amazing to find out about my own ancestral families that lived here. Highly recommended.
