After a recent knee surgery I rented the NICE1 Cold + Compression system from Optimal Recovery. I do not need a medical degree to know that this product made a HUGE difference in my recovery and can’t recommend the NICE1 and Optimal Recovery enough!
The machine is ice-free, which made the first few weeks of recovery extremely convenient due to not having to mess with changing ice packs or waiting for them to refreeze. The compression helped a lot with the swelling and the automatic cycling on/off of the machine allowed me to leave the knee wrap on while I was laid up and elevating my leg.
Shout out to the exceptional service I received from the Optimal Recovery team as well! Garret took the time to walk me through using the machine, helped with programming a “pre-set” option and was super responsive answering any questions (which wasn’t often, because the system is extremely easy to use).

The NICE machine for helping my dad’s recovery for his knee replacement was the best thing he could have used. The machine was able to be used solely by my dad and didn’t need help from others to work or set up prior to the surgery. The machine allowed for no missing compression and ice/coldness time because my dad was able to sleep with the machine with no disruptions of his normal sleep routine. This machine saved my dad recovery time! The staff was excellent and catered to my dads needs.

My son was a AAA hockey goalie. He was having severe hip pain and xrays showed his right hip had an impingement and completely torn labrum. Left hip had an impingement and partially torn labrum and stress fracture. The surgeon said these were the largest impingements he had ever seen and my son had one on each hip. We rented the NICE machine for the first surgery and after 72 hours my son was already on crutches and completely off pain meds. For the second surgery we used the NICE machine and he took no pain meds after leaving the hospital and was up on crutches within 24 hours. Another goalie who had the same surgery with less hip damage, without the NICE machine was on pain killers for weeks and had to go to the Dr numerous times for pain management. The NICE machine should be a REQUIREMENT for all surgeries, not a recommendation. It is a complete game changer for recovery and if I could rate above 5 stars I would.

Having the Nice machine was amazing for my recovery. Optimal is conveniently located right next to OrthoNE. They were easy and flexible to work with! If you live outside of Omaha, returning the machine was a breeze.

As a care giver this was a God send. My wife had a knee replacement and they sent her home with a machine that required adding ice etal. Fortunately, a friend told me about the Nice machine. Rented one for a month and it really helped with my wife's recovery and my energy. On top of a great machine the staff were extremely helpful.

I would recommend the NICE cold therapy machine to every person having a knee replacement surgery. This has been a lifesaver and is so simple to use. No refilling ice or any maintenance needed. Just plug it in and use! Allows you to ice even when you are sleeping with the automatic programming. This was crucial during my first week after surgery. After a week or so the compression that is added in helps reduce swelling and provides a ton of comfort. I have a regular ice machine that will collect dust now because I will always get a NICE machine from Optimal Recovery instead. Highly highly recommend!

The cold compression without needing to use the ice packs was awesome! Day 3 adding the compression in addition to the cooling feature really reduced the swelling. I was back to stationary bike class at week 2 and added golf on week 3. Looking forward to getting my other knee done!

My surgeon recommended that I use a cold compression system after my hip surgery. Optimal Recovery was a great resource and provided me with a NICE1 Cold and Compression System. This was my second hip surgery and the system greatly improved my recovery experience. The system reduced swelling completely and made the pain manageable without requiring as much pain medication.Garrett was also very kind and helpful. Highly recommend!
