It's devoid of welcome and happiness and full of broken unmotivated employees. Just business as usual. Nothing to see here. Get your pet stuff and get out. . . When our system comes back up.

Had a hard time finding a parking spot because the parking lot was full of Anti American protesters. How did you allow them to park there?

This Petco location continues to go further and further down hill.
There are a handful of good, kind employees like Mari (who is a treasure to this world) at the register and some of the pet care people but other than that this location has no redeeming qualities. The store is constantly a mess with palates all over, horribly maintained fish tanks and dried dog urine all over the isles. They even employ people in management positions who were FIRED from their number 1 competitor.
The entrance to the store constantly wreaks of urine from customer dogs peeing (which happens but regularly cleaning would keep the odor under control. Clearly that isn't happening)
The parking lot is a disaster, and has been for a long time. Drive careful because there are loads of potholes. Petco is responsible for managing the sidewalks outside of the store but the company they have hired to clear the parking lot and sidewalks does such a poor job that as I was leaving Saturday I saw a woman in a motorized wheelchair on the sidewalk with only one leg having to try her best to shovel out a path so she could get through. All the other surrounding businesses had clear sidewalks. Thankfully I was able to get out and shovel for her. It had been 4 days since the snow storm and the weather was beautiful out. There is absolutely no reason for such poorly maintained sidewalks that a disabled woman was having to try and shovel it herself. The management team should be paying attention and if their parking lot maintenance company can't get out there then a manager should be getting out there to shovel so that the community and customers can safely navigate the parking lot and sidewalks.
I really enjoy chatting with people like Mari when I come each week to buy dog food, cat foot and crickets but until this store gets a major management change and remodel I will be limiting how often I frequent this location moving forward.

You could drive to Council Bluffs and back before you get service at their live cricket station. Go to CB Petco they keep the bugs by the checkout so you can order them right at the counter.

MAKE SURE THEY WEIGH YOUR DOG IN FRONT OF YOU OR ELSE THEY WILL LIE AND MAKE YOU PAY MORE MONEY!! I wish I could give 0 stars for the employee lying and trying to steal money from us. I have been going to this Petco for 5 years and I have never had any issues with using this Petco location until yesterday. Medium sized dogs get charged $10 more than a small sized dog, (which is fair since there is more to shave) and for a dog to be considered medium they need to weigh 27 pounds according to the lady at the grooming counter. We walk in and they say âYeah your dog weighs 27 pounds.â They said that just by looking at her without physically putting her on the scale. We knew she wasnât 27 pounds because we had just taken her to the vet 2 weeks before where she weighed 21pounds. We left for a couple of hours and then we received the text that said she was ready to be picked up. We got there and we asked if she weighed our dog and she said âYes, she weighs 27 pounds.â We were worried that our dog might be sick if she gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks so we asked the employee to weigh her again. She was hesitant but did it in front of us and our dog only weighed 22 pounds. She lied straight to our faces just so they could get more money from us. Lying is not okay. Unethical, no integrity. Iâm afraid to use this location ever again now because I feel like Iâm not getting the full service I pay for.

Don't use this Petco location unless you want to be ripped off. The biggest mistake was lying to us so that they could get more money. Upon arrival they told us that our dog weighed 27 pounds before weighing her. Then when we picker her up we asked what she weighed and the lady lied straight to our face saying she weighed 27 pounds exactly, which is the cut off weight between small and medium which is a $10 difference. So we asked her to weigh our dog again in front of us and our dog weighed 22 pounds. We knew she didn't weigh 27 pounds because we took our dog to the vet 2 weeks ago where she weighed 21 pounds. They lied to us to try and scam us for more money. That is not okay. We took our dog in for a full grooming service. This service was to include a hair cut, ear cleaning, teeth brushing and a nail trim. They missed a few spots on our dogs face and on the back of her legs when cutting her hair. Her ears were still dirty and full of wax when picking her up. They don't do all the services that we paid for. If you use this location, make sure you know your dogs weight before hand.

On Thursday, January 9th 2025, I brought my dog to this store to buy kibble and a leash. At checkout, the cashier offered to give my dog a âtreat.â I assumed it was a typical dog cookie, but it turned out to be a chocolate/vanilla cookie with fillingâsomething clearly not safe for dogs.
This is completely unacceptable. There is a big difference between a dog treat and human junk food, and staff should be trained to know what is appropriate for pets. Pet owners should not have to double-check every interaction to ensure their furry friendsâ safety. Please ensure your team understands this distinction so this doesnât happen to anyone else. Very disappointed.
