Red cloud is a beautiful quaint town, and they take pride in honoring Willa Cather.

Was closed when I visited on a Sunday but the signage gives lots of info. I stopped at a nearby park to let my cat out to walk around. He & I car-camped our way all around Nebraska - a very enjoyable trip in the early fall of 2021.

Was there on a Sunday, so the museum and this were closed. Nice to see history of a great American rider preserved.

REOPENED for GUIDED TOURS on Willa Cather’s 150th birthday, December 7, 2023, after an extensive sixteen-month restoration • Guided tours of the home depart from the National Willa Cather Center at 425 N. Webster Street in Red Cloud. Willa Cather, one of our nation’s greatest writers, lived in this house from circa 1884 to 1890. The house is significant as an important setting in Cather’s writings and because of significant associations with her personal life. The home has been formally recognized in the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Willa Cather Thematic Group and by individual listing as a National Historic Landmark, thereby designating it one of the nation’s most important historic structures.
