Found Rock Hard 4x4 after experiencing a catastrophic failure of another company's flat tow baseplate and bar that tore up our front bumper, splash guard, and intercooler. I ordered the aluminum patriot bumper for my 2022 Ford Bronco and LOVE it. The look, the fact that I can see and torque the bolts as needed, the ease of connecting - 100% better than my prior set up. Fast forward two years and we had another tow bar failure. This time it was the tow bar retaining pin that failed. Not sure if I didn't get the spring clip placed correctly, maybe got distracted and didn't put it in, but I'd also been having issues with this particular clip sproinging itself off the pin randomly. (Yep, sproinging! C'mon, you've seen those Acme products the coyote orders.) Either way, the retaining pin worked its way out, the bar fell, and the Bronco once again rammed the back of my RV. Now, we've been very, very lucky to only have minor - and I do mean minor - fiberglass damage on the RV from the Bronco. This time the damage to the Bronco was limited to a scratch on the bumper you have to know is there to see and the blue ox base plate was compressed so the retaining pin holes were no longer round. They replaced the base plate under warranty - even though it wasn't even their product that had the issue that caused the failure! And, when the package was lost at the destination - another story for another day - they overnighted a set to get us on the road on time. This company has EXCELLENT customer service. Their products are great looking, well made, MADE IN AMERICA, and I will put them on every tow vehicle I ever own. Presently that's a 2022 Ford Bronco and a 2024 Jeep Gladiator. We also have the SportDeck in the Bronco as well as having the dead pedal foot rest and red recovery clevis pins on the Gladiator. Order their products, you won't be disappointed!

I purchased a Rock Hard 4x4 skid system for my Jeep Jl, second hand. I ended up with a couple of incorrect brackets and the guys at RockHard were incredible in helping me figure out what i had and what i needed. i just got back from a trip where i put my rig and my skills to the test and the skid system saved me on multiple occasions where i made a bad call and dropped pretty hard onto the belly. if it were not for the skids, pretty sure i would have done some major damage. They did their job though and i drove 700 miles home after a long weekend of wheeling. thank you!!!

I bought Rock Hard Patriot bumpers for my XJ several years ago. Installed them myself, and neglected to grease the bearings on the spare tire swingout sufficiently. Rust destroyed the bearings, totally my fault. I called to order parts, and didn't leave a message. Ten minutes later, James (the owner) called me back and asked if I needed help. He's gotten my number off the Caller ID, and was covering the phones early Monday morning. I explained what I'd done, and he asked me to check the cap on the column. They'd made a production change, and the cap ID'd which version I had. Once he had that information, he asked for my name and address, and told me he's send me all the internal parts so I could change it out. He refused payment - said "You bought the best, we stand behind it. Even if you bought it secondhand."
Two days later, the package arrived UPS 2nd Day Air. NOBODY does things like that these days. Bearings, seals, spacers, all new, at no charge - even though the damage was entirely my fault. Great bumpers, perfect fit, great finish, exceptional design and welding, very, very strong, and customer service like no other I know of. One of the few times I've ever gotten more than I paid for. This 100% American small business shows well-earned pride in their products, and I highly recommend them. Five stars isn't enough.

Bought a front bumper from these guys and it came quickly and fit perfect. They also got me the right brackets for my tow bar setup and it pulls like a dream. I had to call customer service a couple of times and the assistance was amazing and the service technician was quick with good info and very friendly. I can't say enough about this product and their customer service!

Rock Hard 4x4 first impressions.
Packaged good.
Powder coat seems adequate.
Directions look like the 10,000th copy from a copy.
They've got 2DJL youtube videos, except they use a Gladiator.. Even their pictures on their own website showing the supposedly 2DJL skids aren't actually for a 2DJL.
Anyway,
#1 "Start with rear crossmember
(6 holes)"
No, rear has 4 holes, and you absolutely can NOT start with the rear crossmember. You actually start with the front crossmember that has 6 holes.
Pretty fun to figure out when you're laying on your back holding up 80 pounds.
Gave up on the directions that are clearly not for this Jeep.
Missing 2 bolts, 4 washers. (Edit) Didn't send oil pan skid brackets either.
The spacer they include isn't long enough.
When you torque it down the spacer is supposed to make a rigid mount between the frame and skid.. Well, there's 1/2in gap and the spacer rattles around doing nothing.
Ended up making my own.
Every bolt has a protective washer or a carriage bolt except one..one that will absolutely get hit. I'll replace with a carriage bolt latter.
Need to reuse factory bolts for the rear brackets on the gastank skid.
No problem..except you can't get the bolt started because the factory bolts that have permanent washers don't fit in the narrow bracket space. Ground washers down on one side to make it work.
I'd skip this skid on a 2dJL because it seems worthless.
Haven't got to the oil pan skid yet because I was busy finding bolts, washers and fabricating new parts.
Pretty sure they've given me two sets of gastank brackets instead of one set for each because I've got 4 identical brackets.
A 4x4 shop locally has installed around a dozen RH skids, he said every single one was missing brackes, wrong brackets and hardware.
Great product overall, but like most off road places, their give a fk clearly stops when they get your money.
I give Rock Hard solid ??and a big??for an overall score of ehh.
Wouldn't recommend.

I’ve had the RH4x4 cage in my TJ for years. Love it... just added the rear cage pieces to my TJ recently. Everything fits well and is built great.
