They did not let me know that I would have to pay $85 to have my car looked at. Do many places charge for diagnostic? Yes. Do some do it for free? Yes. But they should warn you and let you know. YES. What kind of practice is it to NOT tell customers ahead of time what they should be expecting price wise, even when I told the owner he looked at me like whatever with a grin on his face "you know everything costs something". SURE yes at a grocery store and such there are prices on items and I get to choose what I spend my money on .. & maybe if I would've known, I wouldn't of left it there and shopped around for a better price. Anyways, extremely rude and don't trust them, especially after shopping around and getting quotes way less. Go elsewhere. Not understanding at all.

Gary's not so quality automotive. If you're local, maybe they'll actually take care of you. We had our car break down on the way back to Denver on a Saturday. The car was overheating, operable, but overheating. We had it towed to Gary's after hours knowing we didn't want to cause any further damage and we waited until they opened on Monday. Monday came, we were told it was a simple fix but they needed to get parts. No problem, what's one more day?As with all mechanics, 80% of our bill is labor. No problem, happy to pay for expertise if it gets ya home. Our car was complete on Tuesday. We pay our bill over the phone and pick up the car in the evening. No less than two hours later we were again overheating! The same problem we dropped it off with is happening TWO HOURS after we pick it up. We get the car to a hotel because it's after 7. The next day is New Years day so no mechanic is open. At this point we're 4 days into dealing with this problem. I had left a VM on the machine at Gary's the night it happened (Tuesday) and had a call Thursday AM from office manager Vera due to the holiday. Second star since they actually called back.To my surprise, her response was NOT, I'm sorry this happened, let's get this figured out for you. Instead, we were told, "well you drove two hours so we did fix it." Are you kidding me? We could drive the car when we dropped it off we just didn't want to cause any further damage. Vera says, maybe you had a bad part but that's not our fault. Ok, no worries, you don't make the parts but what's the deal when our car breaks down two hours later? Are you going to work with us? Maybe a discount in labor? Anything? I'm not asking for a full refund but you didn't actually fix the problem. We attempted to get it in to another mechanic as Gary's would warranty the part. Which by the way is a 25 dollar thermostat. That's not the problem. It's the other 650 we paid in labor. Now I have to pay someone else 650 but I get a free 25 dollar part? Thanks Were now at 6 days of hotels and we're just fed up. We couldn't do another night stranded in NE so we decided to cut our losses and sell the car as we could no longer wait for someone else to try to fix this problem. Since I couldn't get it into another mechanic, Gary's said there's nothing they can do. So friends, go to Gary's for the best two hour satisfaction guarantee in town.

This shop saved me on an RV trip when I put gas in my diesel truck how stupid was that. They had it fixed and out by the next morning. Thankfully once they drained it my injectors and what ever else it could have ruined seemed to be fine. Got me back to Houston and so far so good. Gary even brought a book to me that I left has the shop that evening. They could have told me everything was ruined and replaced all that expensive stuff so that shows what a great honest shop it is. Thank you guys.

I took my son's truck in to have the oil changed while he was home from college. While I was there I asked them to look at the computer. My son said his check engine light would come on sometimes when he was driving on the interstate. After checking the computer and an inspection, Vera (the office manager) called me with the news. The head was cracked. They would be able to fix it, They gave me several options. New heads, refurbished heads etc. They had the new heads inspected and tested prior to putting them on. They were able to complete this before my son needed his truck to get back to college. Truck has been running like a charm since. Fast work and reasonably priced. I take ALL my mechanical work to Gary's. I feel like they are honest, fast and have fair pricing. I would recommend Gary's to anyone. PS- Towed my family car to Gary's today to replace the starter! Gary's doesn't even know that yet! Tow it in, they will fix it!

We've been to Gary's for several issues, from routine transmission maintenance up to a serious problem with the A/C. They've always been great to work with. They've been above board about everything, and any time there's an issue after the repair, they've looked into it without charge or any hassle at all (even when, in one case, the issue was entirely in my imagination). I don't even bother calling around for prices on repairs (large or small) any more. We want a mechanic we can trust, and that's what we've found at Gary's. Highly, highly recommended.

I have been going to Gary's for 4 years. I have always been treated with respect. My vehicle has also been treated very fine. They do excellent work and talk to you about the work to be done and after the work has been done. When they tell me there is a problem--I believe them. When I asked them to check out a problem--they do and give me their honest opinion of what might be wrong and how much it will probably cost. Their cost estimates are very close to the actual cost. They are an excellent shop to go to and very trust worthy!

Fast service, but when I asked for prices on a possible repair, they failed to follow through and give an estimate
