Website says product is in stock then miraculously it isn’t. First and last time shopping Cabela’s NEVER AGAIN. What a horrible company will be posting how bad they truly are!

Recently my fiancé tried to purchase a pistol from the Hudson/Berlin store in Massachusetts and the employee behind the counter confused her into filling out one of the questions on the application wrong, instructed her what to put for an answer (which is illegal) and because of that she is now banned from buying any guns from any Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops. I myself went into the same store to buy the gun and a lady named Mae behind the counter was rude to not only me but another customer that had asked a quick question. After noticing my address was missing one letter from the street name she then refused to sell me the gun and the holder of the FFL for the store also refused me the gun and got snippy with me. I have purchased several guns from this store alone with the same LTC and never had a problem. So we left the store and went to a Bass Pro Shop in Foxboro where the manager there couldn't believe what they had done at the other store and proceeded to sell me the gun I wanted with no issues. Thank you to Nick in Foxboro and Cabela's in Berlin has now lost 2 customers for life. I will never go back and give them anymore of my money.

I called today for see if your store had a particular shotgun in stock. I spoke with Scott. He insisted that the shotgun would only be held overnight. I asked what I needed to bring with me as I had just purchased a home and my license had a PO Box on it. He asked if I had a fishing or hunting license. I told him no. He the asked for a car registration. I said no problem. Not wanting to lose the purchase I drove an hour to the store only to find the registration also wasn’t good enough. I am not making the drive again and their employees need to get information straight before giving it to customers. This obviously isn’t going to hurt the stores bottom line but this is not just the first but the second time I have called the store only to be given incorrect information. I will not come to this store ever again.

Very biased company, it is completely changed its business narrative and is in favour of not selling firearms to civilians anymore.Shame. I grew up buying hunting supplies here, now I publicly denounced you.

Very poor customer service. Never respond to emails. Green Bay wi cabelas is absolutely horrible. They treat FFL holders like dirt. No one knows anything about selling guns there. One day I can leave with a gun using my FFL and the next day they won’t sell to FFL. What the heck is going on cabelas? These guys need some training If your going to be selling guns! Lost my business.

I went to cabelas in Kearney and bought a vexilar sonar for my vexilar and went to use it and no signal. I paid cash for it but couldn’t find the receipt. It had only been less then 30 days. I told them approximately the time frame I purchased it and the manager told me she couldn’t find it in the system. I explained that it didn’t work and I either wanted a refund or a different one. She refused to do either. So I asked for the main manager which was Name Derek. He came after about 10 mins. When he came he got on the system and must of looked for it. The whole time he didn’t talk to me about the situation. He went and said something to the manager that I was dealing with and then left. Long story short….. NEXT TIME I WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS TO SCHEELS!

Put down a $500 refundable deposit on a boat, after 2 weeks of back and forth we decided to go a different direction. Was told my refund was in the mail. It's now been 3 weeks and still nothing. We have called and talked to several people all saying something different. They take your money right away, they should give it back as fast. Very disappointed with the handling of this and will unfortunately shop elsewhere.

I never thought that I would have an issue until the other day. I was on leave back in my home town from the air force. My brother and I were visiting the saginaw cabelas and i noticed a black powder handgun that i wanted. While i was looking at it, i mentioned i was on leave from my duty station in north carolina. The transaction stopped there, as they refused to sell to me because i live in north carolina even though my state of residence is michigan and i have a Michigan drivers license. After pulling up the law and explaining to the people at the counter that i am a michigan resident, they still would not sell to me so i asked to speak to the manager. The manager finally comes out and accuses me of trying to purchase the gun for my brother which wasnt the case and nothing was even said that would allude to that. This experience was absolutely unreal to me. Its not only embarrassing but it is infuriating to be refused service because i am stationed out of state and then for a manager to lie to my face about why his workers at the counter were refusing to sell to me. Cabelas and bass pro shops lost a lifelong customer. I will never shop at anything run by this company again.

I placed an order for four shirts from Cabela's to be shipped to my home. Each of the four shirts indicated that it was in stock and would be shipped same day if the order was placed by 4:00 pm. The order was, indeed, placed prior to 4 pm on May 10, 2022. HOWEVER, the order did not ship on May 10. I believe it did ship on May 11, but I did not receive any notification until May 12. I paid for expedited (2-day FedEx) shipping at the time of the order so it should have shipped and arrived by May 12. That was not the case. I did receive the shipping notice and the expected delivery was May 13. Sadly, AFTER Cabela's dropped the ball on shipping the order, FedEx also dropped the ball and lost the package. I will never shop at Cabela's again as I have to ponder if they had shipped on time, would the order have arrived??

Purchased a firearm from them but their FFL was being renewed so had to come back the following week to do paperwork. I was fine with that. Came back and did paperwork, was told to come back once the background check was completed. Waited over 15 week days and still no response. Called several times and was told to check back each day to see if they had received it yet. Finally went to the store to get my money back and was told” oh sorry our fax machine was broken so we don’t know if we received it or not”. I was also told that it is company policy to wait until the background check is completed even though we only have to wait 10 days and then they can release the firearm. Will spend my money elsewhere when purchasing a firearm.

I was just at Cabela's in Fort Mill, SC and bought a car top cargo carrier. The only one they had was the display, I was told when I called about it the other day that they usually give a discount when you purchase the display when they are out of stock of inbox items. I asked the lady at the service desk to ask the manager for a discount since it was the display and did not come with a box and I dont know how many people played with it while it was on display. She called the manager who would not give me any type of discount. I asked her to ask again as it was out of the box and was just laying on the floor for people or kids to play with it. The second time she said that he would not take anything off of the item even though it was a display. I bought the item anyways but asked the lady to advise the manager that it will be the last thing I will ever purchase from cabela's due to not only his attitude but also that there were no employees in that area to assist me. I had asked two employees for assistance one disappeared and the other went and spoke to someone. I went to the camping area took a folding chair and sat by the display item I wanted to buy for about 15-20 minutes be for the older gentleman came back with a price scanner to tell me how much the item was. I really am saddened by this experience as I had always thought highly of cabela's as being a store the cared about their customers. I guess not.

I ordered a rifle from Cabela’s and I live in Livonia Michigan because the gun was sold out near me I drove to the Cabela’s in Saginaw which is 2 hours away from me to pick up my order. The first time I drove the two hour drive because they told me my order was ready there was a delay in my background check that I would have to come back which is totally understandable because that happens some times. So a week later I get a call saying you have been approved from FBI come get your order. So I leave to go on another two hour and when I get there they tell me yes I was approved by FBI but that Cabela’s denied me. So out of disbelief I ask can I ask why and the manager tell me they think I’m buying it for someone else because I didn’t know what I was doing excuse me I’m sorry I don’t know everything I’m learning what because I’m a FEMALE It can’t be for me. I wasn’t with anyone and I wasn’t talking to nobody about the gun. I was in tears when I left it was the worst experience of my life! I’m in shock that just happened I will be filling a lawsuit on them for being sexist and discriminating against me. I want to see video footage of me acting any different than any of person buying a gun that day.

I only deal with Cabela's when I've exhausted every other possiblity. A few weeks ago that was the case when I decided to have a gun transferred from one of their Texas stores to my local store in Lacey WA. Literally impossible to get anyone to answer the phone in Lacey. Many times I've had to drive there just to see for myself. The last time I spoke with the store manager about it she was defensive and standoffish instead of taking responsibility for her employees. Everytime there's an excuse: people quit, understaffed, it's busy, etc...It's actually unbelievable that this company stays afloat. 2 Stars and 50 reviews! Wow! What a joke. If you live in Western Washington do yourself a favor and try Sportco instead. They are everything Cabelas isn't and prove daily that IT IS possible to keep items in stock, answer a phone, and retain knowledgeable staff.

I had a cabelas bait cast fishing reel which I Loved. But it started messing up so I took it to the Cabelas in Buds,Texas. I then talked to the man at the fishing reel counter they told me I could bring it back and they would exchange it to another one. But they didn’t have the one I had anymore. So when I took it back the manager just picked out a cheap reel and exchanged it. I Love that reel and wish I had never changed it out. Very Very Disappointed with customer service. What else can I do? They gave you in there grasp so they do wherever they want. No one apologized or gave me any other option. I would have Loved a call back or anything. But I guess that’s the way they work and keep there profits up. BAD BAD Costumer service…..
