“While on a weekend trip to Valentine, The alternator in my old Chevy pickup decided to give out on me. We had just pulled into the Smith Falls parking lot when the battery warning light came on and volt meter dropped to 11 volts. No phone service so we just immediately started back for town. Driving down Main Street spotted the door propped open of this “old school” parts store. It was Saturday at 12:55 pm.Went in and explained my issue to Alan. He offered to test the alternator and determined that it wasn’t charging. He checked his stock and had one on the shelf. I explained that I was capable of changing it out but didn’t have any tools with me.No problem, he offered all the tools I needed and even gave me a hand.After the new one was installed and tested out perfectly, it was time to settle up. By that time it was about 1:35 pm. I asked him what time he closed. He replied 1:00 on Saturday. I apologized for keeping him but he insisted it was all good.All in all , a great parts store with exceptional service!Thanks Al, you saved our weekend!”
