“I also got fuel from this place that I had put into can and put in my skid loader. Immediately after adding their fuel the machine stopped starting, I mean it ran great and the next time I tried to start it after using their fuel it would not start. I fixed the issue myself and didn’t take the machine to a mechanic. Drained the fuel and replaced the fuel filter and it started up again. It was very obviously bad fuel. I let them know and they said that they hadn’t had any other complaints. They wouldn’t refund without a receipt from a mechanic which is understandable. Anyone could claim this and expect money it is expected that if they weren’t having any other reports they should be skeptical about a claim such as that. So I did not push the issue and pondered what may have happened. It may have been timing with rain or something, I had bought fuel from them the same exact way a few days before with no problems. So perhaps the system can sometimes be contaminated or maybe it may get worse at some points. It’s a very old system and would not be too surprising its age may affect things with a water leak. I googled the problem and there are several possible ways water can contaminate the tank. The fuel floats on top of the water so the level of the tank at the time of pumping could be the issue. They have outdated water filters and perhaps that and the level of fuel could explain why it isn’t a constant problem. It is unlikely a delivery issue. Regardless I was out a little over $60 and my machine was down for days and it took me the time to flush the bad fuel out, I would rather have been doing something more constructive. So when I saw the other review of a person saying basically the same thing that I experienced I immediately believed their post. I do not think the gas station is doing anything malicious and I’ve had the same problem at other stations, the worst being fueling up then making it to Colorado a few hours away before the water hit the engine. That was way more expensive and in a pickup that had to be towed to a mechanic. I just wanted to let people know it is a possibility at any diesel pump and if it happens you will want a mechanic to look at it if you are planning to get reimbursed. Also want to add that I still will get gas at this place and haven’t had any problems with those pumps. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The store has a good selection of gas station products. Most importantly they have an amazing bathroom that is always clean, updated and not usually occupied when you need to use it. That last one isn’t always a given, but if a clean bathroom is important to you it’s my opinion they have the best choice in Weeping Water.”
