Beatty Museum & Historical Society, established in 1995, is a small but fascinating museum located in a former Catholic Church. It features a growing collection of local artifacts, including Native American crafts, fossils, mining equipment, and household items from the town's mining heyday on the edge of Death Valley. The museum has two attached rooms, the Abrams Room and Parsons Room, dedicated to donors, which allow for rotating exhibits and displays from the Nevada Arts Council and local artists. Outside, visitors can see vintage tractors, a fire truck, and other historic equipment. The collection provides a vivid glimpse into the history and spirit of the area, showcasing local Indian artifacts, rock ore, and homesteading items. The exhibits are presented with care, accompanied by informative signs, and the museum offers free outdoor exhibits and information. As a nonprofit member of the Museums for All initiative, it welcomes visitors from around the world. Though not open all year, when open, it’s a rewarding stop, especially before visiting nearby ghost towns like Rhyolite. Visitors, including families with children, find the museum interesting and well-maintained, appreciating its contributions to preserving local history and culture.

Open times might be tricky but once you're inside its a wide variety of information abd artificats from the town and surrounding areas history.

I have been coming to Beatty for over 20 years and there is a charm and history to this place. Going to this museum today, we finally understood the history of this town and area better and we really appreciated all of the personal stories. Plenty of artifacts on display and a lot of great information. Highly recommend...
