We stayed here this last weekend for visiting Death Valley. The layout of room 3 was great, looks very similar to the pictures online. The space is roomy for 2 adults plus several bags (and a medium dog crate) and was very efficient for what we needed. The bed and mattress were comfy so we had good sleep the 3 nights we stayed. The linen and towels felt very nice and clean. Direct TV was a nice option that we used each night after a long day of activities at the park and WiFi worked very fast. They have a couple tables and enough chairs we put to good use. The heater worked great for the space especially since it got pretty chilly at night and morning. It’s a convenient and (seemed) safe location especially if you want to walk to basic necessities and food close by and heading to Death Valley. The bathroom and bathtub shower were great and worked real well for us. Also they have a nice microwave, strong spacious mini fridge and freezer that was super helpful to us having food to store and consume. Most things I asked were answered promptly and the host was helpful. I only suggested they restock the toiletries before guests arrive, install a few hooks for clothes on the walls, and weatherize the front door to avoid losing heat in the winter and cool air in the summer. We recommend this place- we had a great time overall.

El Portal Motel is good for what it is. The room was large with a good-sized bathroom and a small table and TV. The bed was fairly comfortable, but the pillows were fairly flat. When I woke up, I saw a few dead crickets on the floor. However, the negatives are mostly offset by the low price of the room.

Cockroach in the bathroom and water was constantly dropping out of the air conditioner, the carpet is also very dirty with stains and the room stank as soon as we entered it,the only good thing was the cat who is really friendly.

Careful with this business. They are very unethical and don't like to pay their bills. Daughter inherent the business and decided she doesn't like to pay services received.edit: @owner, that's where you are wrong. I have visited El Portal Motel back in like 2015. "fair and ethical" = not paying your website provider just because you inherent the hotel even when you have emails.

Extremely unethical and toxic. Please read with screenshots attached.I have worked with El portal motel for a long time. I am a website provider and a small veteran business owner. Jerrod Wertman I have known practically as long as I've known El portal motel. He owns Real Results Online, and manages El Portal Motels bookings, marketing, etc. We have a verbal agreement for a small amount of customers that we work with that we would do the hosting and websites and he does marketing and bookings. Originally working with Aaron of El Portal Motel, we referred them to talk to Jerrod for their booking needs. We've had some falling outs with difference of opinions, so we don't regular work with Jerrod.I provide the same service that I've always claimed for a decade. I will host a website and charge $25-$30/month to offer free content changes (up to 1 hour a month/12 hours a year), website backups and security. Contrarily, if they don't want that but want the hosting package, I charge $10/month and then an hourly wage for any changes/updates on the website. Keep in mind, there's server fees, SSL certificate renewals, website updates, plugin updates that also go into the mix when not self managed.April of 2020 comes around, and my former business partner and I decided to pause hosting payments collections without late fees/interest since the US government was enacting some lockdowns. I'll reemphasize that I'm not some large corporation but working out of my house as a side job. I don't charge crazy high fees, and at a time when simple stuff like hosting and domain fees have doubled in the time I've serviced this account, I haven't once raised my fees in nearly a decade. I have grandfathered all my clients into the same exact pricing and have soaked the costs.Well, 2022 comes around and we reach out to El Portal Motel to try to collect payments. The COVID lockdowns finally end across the US. Nichole O'Dell, the manager and I think owner, talked to me on two occasions and then went to ignoring me. So after completely ignoring our correspondences over half a year, we finally warn them we are shutting down their website on January 2023. A couple days later, Jerrod Wertman reaches out and tells me he will intermediate the conversation and billing and from approval of Nichole will have the correspondence going through him. He tells me that they will make a partial payment now. I assure him I don't want to reactivate it without some kind of payment plan at least and he told me that they will "pay one year now".Well since Jerrod wanted me to add him to all the invoices and he's managing their account and wants me to add him to all future correspondences, I restart the website.I wait patiently for six months and low and behold, Jerrod Wertman and Nichole have determined that I am not owed the rest of the balance. After relaunching the site, Jerrod scrapes the website, most likely charges them for a new website (he typically charges $1800-3000) and sets them up on a new hosting package. Despite the fact I offer hosting, security and backups, Jerrod thinks I should have provided free marketing advice and recommend free content suggestions. Because I failed to offer things outside of the scope of the contract and services rendered, Nichole and Jerrod think I shouldn't be paid and I carry a self of "entitlement" for wanting to be paid for services rendered. Keep in mind, the original agreement has late fees (20%) auto renewal per year without cancelation (renewed in May), both of which I offered to waive. To even further compact it, Jerrod threatens legal actions if I were to try to pursue payment for services already rendered and calls me a "bad christian". Despite the fact that real results online has a verbal agreement with us, not to poach now several website packages, I don't even care about that. I wouldn't have even cared if they walked away but instead Jerrod and Nichole wanted to give some reassurances to pay the minimum

VERY affordable and clean.Yes, the carpet and chairs are stained. However, all the surfaces were spotless and the linens were crisp and clean as well. I would highly recommend. Plus, there's a really adorable cat.

This little motel was surprisingly charming! The rooms are clean and the beds were comfortable. The resident cat and chihuahua were probably my daughter's favorite part of the trip. The staff were very nice.Rooms: Kinda retro. It was a little like staying at grandma's house. But, clean and comfortable.Walkability: Easily could walk to most of Beatty's best restaurants and across the street from the town museum

This place is so chill. I stayed here 3/27 and 3/29/23, first night in room 9, a triple queen, and 2nd night room 6, standard double. Both were pretty standard rooms, nothing fancy, but the water was hot and the beds were clean. The motel's location and staff are really just fantastic though. Cat is the manager, Chihuahua is security, and the traffic at night is ZERO. Crazy quiet at night, super peaceful. Compared to Stagecoach at the north end of town, this place is serene. I stayed at Stagecoach once and never again. If I ever come to Beatty again, I will be staying here. Very conveinent access to hills west of town leading to Rhyolite. I had a great time. Donkeys walked right up to my trailer both times when I was leaving.Nearby activities: RhyoliteWalkability: Museum across street, gas stations very close easy walk
