What a great train ride, loved the view ...I enjoyed the music and our lady that was on our train car..I was with some girlfriends, and we were able to take lots of pictures!..this was my second time here, as I came during christmas time last year..The Halloween express ended with a little party for the kids. They offered cookies and water, and had a couple of booths that were selling merchandise ( one of the ladies wasn't very friendly) .but I purchased a couple of Halloween pins anyway..overall we enjoyed our ride!

Has a few engines that you can not go on. Has several cars that you can tour. The US mail car had a person that talked about the car and answered questions. We purchased tickets and took the train ride. There are open and regular train passenger cars. There is a small scale railroad. It was fun. I enjoyed this the most on our trip to the Vegas area.

I went here on my way from Hoover Dam and this was a great little find. Turns out the museum had been closed for a private education event but the staff let me enjoy the museum anyways and I sure did. This place is great. The displays are fantastic and clean. A lot to look at here. I recommend any rail enthusiasts to check out this place and families to.

Fun for the little ones and for those who enjoy history and trains. The crew are all very nice and helpful. The bathrooms are maintained which says a lot!If you have little ones, the miniature steam train ride. That was fun and the ride took way longer than any theme park ride we've been on LOLPlease visit and support the local historical train museum ❤️

The tickets are ONLY for the train ride. The museum itself is free, open air, covered and amazing. A few of the exhibits can be boarded and viewed. The Director has a PhD and is excited to answer questions and give explanations about all aspects of the railroads. Make certain to plan a few hours to stop by and learn about the railroads.

Train across Beautiful Desert our tickets were $10 dollars. It's a 45 min trip thru this awesome desert scape an up thru a canyon n then back again there r many different train cars to choose from from old luxury passenger with rich velvety plush seats to a old cattle car with or without covered roof with wood benches. I highly recommend this adventure. There were also $20 tics to ride in caboose or $35 tics to ride with train engineer. It was awesome fun for everyone of all ages

We took our 2 boys, ages 3 & 7, here for a quick visit. The staff was all so kind and full of joy! What a great experience! Our boys LOVE trains and they were so excited to ride the train and look at all the cool stuff around the Museum. Lots of history to check out! I would absolutely take them back. You can walk around and look at all the trains, you can enter the gift shop and find cool stuff to purchase, all at a reasonable price. When it is time to enter the train, they had us line up around the entrance, my 3 yr old was picked to say "All Aboard", along with 2 other little kids and it was so cute to watch the excitement on his face. The train ride is enjoyable, around 30 minutes. This particular day they had a story time, Easter theme. One of the staff read a cute little Easter book, they got to color, and make a little bunny with tissue paper. Kept them happy and entertained. Be sure to take lots of pictures and videos!

We just did the Easter Bunny experience & I def recommend !! The trains were interesting to look at & read about. The train ride was a nice experience for my family & I. I have a six year old & six month old. They both enjoyed it as much as us adults did. The workers are AMAZING ! They really make the experience ! They are so nice & welcoming & very helpful. For the Easter experience we got to take pictures with the Easter bunny, play games, do a little scavenger hunt & my daughter got some Easter eggs for doing the scavenger hunt. The food options were chicken or pulled pork sandwich or hot dog & it's served with a bag of chips & water. The only cons were that it was windy & cold, but they do have heaters & they even let us in the VIP room to keep the kids warm !! Also, there's only about 30 min to do the games, bunny pictures, eat, etc. wish there was more time to hangout, but that's just because we enjoyed the experience so much!My six year old said she wants to come back & do it again so we will def be back for more experiences throughout the year !!

Excellent low cost afternoon family outing. Be sure to check out the "Static" train walk thru displays. 1 passenger car has a huge Running O Guage Model Train Exhibit (free). Train Ride is about an hour round trip. Adults are $10 each, kids 3 and under free, Over 3 to 12 $5. There is a small store there too with Souvenir items. Aloha.

Not a large museum, so it won't take too long to go thru the exhibits, but make sure you allow 45 minutes for the (very gentle) train ride. The old caboose and mail cars were very interesting, I didn't imagine that the trains contained a "Post Office" sorting station. We also really enjoyed the model trains, built inside an actual train! The scale models are real works of kinetic art!Sadly, the Pullman car is still being refurbished, so we weren't allowed to tour it. And on the day we came, the tiny "kiddee?" train wasn't running, but overall this is a good place to bring your family.

Hidden little gem just outside of Las Vegas. The staff were super friendly. There are a couple of railroad cars you can walk through. One of the cars has a model train set in it, which was cool to see. The train ride was only $10 bucks for adults and take you on 45 trip across the desert. This train is totally old school as you here the clicking clack of train over the rails.

I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I paid for a dinning cart thinking we could order dinner and eat on the train ride. No not the case the trains are about or over 100 years old so ok now that makes since. However the description didn't match reality of the experience. The worker/volunteer in our cart was absolutely unprofessional the cart we were in on December 21 at 8pm was 4813. She first started out yelling to all of us that we NEEDED TO LISTEN to reduce her anxiety. She than proceeded to talk about her age and said she would ask everyone, because she wants to know. Finally she reveals her age and she is 15 years old well explains the immaturity. She left her envelope on our table after 10 minutes comes back snatches off the table and said, "I need my envelope!" We get off the train to get hot chocolate and a cookie the VIP that I purchased gave you a gift bag that consist of a Chocolate bar and a mug. The children's bag had a train whistle and a train ornament. There was small cotton ball like balls that people used to throw at each other. We got back on the train and to top it off, our cart lady proceeds to again yell at us that she was tired and that we all needed to hurry upoff her cart so she could go home sleep because she had done this for a straight of 4 weeks and she was tired. Horrible attitude and don't recommend her working around families that are doing nice things for their children around the holidays.

From the second you step out of your car until the moment you leave, every single staff person is SO FRIENDLY and helpful. Absolutely wonderful customer service, a warm and welcoming environment. We did the Santa Express at night time. A cute idea. You board the train and ride for about 10 minutes and then 10 minutes back. Then you get off in Santa's rail yard and there's are "snowballs", a few games, cookies and hot cocoa, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a gift shop. Chilly Jillyz is also there if you want to purchase snacks. The snowball fights were probably the highlight. Everyone was having fun. Even adults. It even "snows" towards the end.It is COLD. Definitely splurge for the indoor railcar if you can. They do have heaters at Santa's railyard which is nice. If you pay for VIP there's a heated tent you can hang out in, but then you miss the activities. You also get a little gift bag if you're VIP and I think table service for your hot cocoa and cookies. Other than that I'm not sure of the difference.I'll be honest , the train ride got a little boring for little ones. They have Christmas music playing and they did read one story. However it's dark so not much to look at out the windows so the kids were getting antsy. Maybe if they could add more decor and some other form of entertainment during the train ride, that would be a nice improvement. I understand why they don't, but even serving hot cocoa and cookies during the ride would be nice inside the table cars. Definitely check it out if it's in your budget!

I just wanted to leave a review of my experience riding the Santa Train last night, 12/09/22. All of the workers (volunteers?) were INCREDIBLY kind, friendly, joyful and brought so much magic to the experience. But the standout STAR was Laura. She went above and beyond to make sure my son and I had a tremendous experience last night. There were a series of events that occurred and I was so worried that we wouldn’t be able to make the Train, but Laura and the team assured me that we would ride the train that night. She kindly even gave us directions to an amazing house down the road with a beautiful Christmas light display. The ride to Santa was so fun, even the adults around me were laughing and singing. Some of the workers walked up and down making sure to engage with all the passengers. We also got a cute little story as well as cheerful music.Santa at the rail yard was AWESOME. My son is 3 and really thought that we were at the North Pole. We took pictures with Santa, ate cookies and drank hot cocoa. And given some super nice gift bags. And then everyone got into a huge “snowball” fight and right in the middle of it, IT STARTED SNOWING! My kid was in wonderland!!!On the way back, we even got see the inside of the caboose! It really, truly warmed my heart and filled my son and I with the Holiday spirit. I am most definitely going to make this our family tradition. Thank you so much to the Nevada Southern Railway for organizing this event!!! ???
