3/2024All the staff I've encountered at this hospital have been cheerful and friendly. The Sage Cafe deserves 5 stars alone for its cooks and great tasting food.

My mother in law, 79, went to the emergency room after having a heart attack Monday 11-21. Dr Ho inserted and placed 4 stents in her. She came out of the surgery in good spirits. She started bleeding, or they noticed she was bleeding that night. She died the next night. We feel the stent surgery isn't an extremely difficult procedure. It should not end in death. To be crystal clear we think the Dr screwed up his procedure and he killed her. This is not a dangerous procedure. We feel such a great loss. I would try to get to Renown if I had the opportunity. I will never check into CTR. Only as a last resort and I understand not all people have Renown in there network.

Now I know why this hospital is rated very low.I stayed in the Carson Tahoe Cardiology Department on November 23rd. On the second day, I underwent two heart tests with contrast agents. During the nuclear stress test, I experienced discomfort, difficulty breathing, and vomiting after discharge. My heart rate remained above 110, jumping to 130-140 at rest. After going to my primary doctor at Kaiser, blood tests revealed hyperthyroidism. I researched online and found that hyperthyroidism is a contraindication for contrast agents containing iodine. Carson Tahoe doctors didn't check my thyroid levels before administering contrast agents. I believe my current hyperthyroidism is directly related to the iodine-containing contrast agents used in the heart tests. Whether I had hyperthyroidism before or it was triggered by the contrast agents, the hospital's actions caused severe damage. I urge the hospital to carefully screen contraindications and use contrast agents cautiously to ensure patient safety. Your hospital and doctors should take responsibility for my hyperthyroidism, not just send me bills. My body has been seriously harmed, why should I pay the bills?

The Carson Tahoe hosptial did a great job with my septosplasty surgery yesterday. I showed up early as instructed and they actually got my into surgery early. I was also done an hour before expected. The pre op and post op nurses were amazing as was the Anesthesiologists team. Thank You for taking care of me. Well done.

I.have watched this hospital go from a ok to a poor hospital. They miss the easiest things. I don't know what dept is the worst, probably E.R. I have watched them miss just about everything from, heart issues, broken bones, gallbladders, collapse lung, kidney stones, heart attack, they tried to sew up a finger that had everything cut through. We have a saying, if you can live long enough for renown go north, if need be go to carson Valley if you need something.Trusting this place will risk your life. Pay attention to your care.

Lived here all my life, ER, hospital, Ancillary service have been just OK. Back office staff needs serious training. Routinely get called, literally within the hour of having to leave for MRI, CT something, to tell me what can't have the imaging or procedure done because the doctor sent the wrong code. WTH....the order surs there two months and scheduled for a well over a month and NOW it an emergency on my part. I can't count how many times CTH has delayed my care and caused me unwarranted stress, anxiety and pain because of this. It's always, we have been trying g to get a hold of your doctor. Well, apparently not, because every time I call, I get a call back, usually within an hour, always be the end of day if call in the morning.Seriously, office staff is not capable of doing their job. If this was a one off thing, I wouldnt be so bothered, but it has happened twice in 2023 and a good 5-6 times in the previous 5-6 years. So, if you look at it as needing scheduled imaging or a procedure once a year for slowly processing problems, then that averages the almost every time. And it's not just one doctor they say they repeatedly try to contact. This last problem, I was in the doctor office to personally ensure that the correct info got to the hospital, then follow up the next day to ensure the email or fax was received and then scheduled appt. So, their staff is great a getting info, confirming info, but not hitting the SAVE button or importing the info toy file.ER care has been consistently above average the past 10 years. Hospital stays, average to slightly below average. Always take an advocate that knows something about medicine...like an EMT friend...or you will get talked at not talked to and you have someone to actually get you help when you need it after sitting in a bed hitting your button for 30 minutes.

I was told by nurses during my pregnancy that my children under 12 would not be allowed in birthing center, and when I had to check myself into it because my unborn baby wasn't moving, I had to leave my seven almost eight year old at home with a phone to call me,for a couple of hours while my mom drove over here to get him. The hospital staff called cps on me when I checked myself out against their wishes to check on my seven year old and let him know what was happening and make sure he was secure until my mother arrived to get him. They also lost the feet prints that the take of the new baby that I was supposed to get. Staff seemed more concerned about checking the boxes on their to do lists then how my baby and I were actually doing and making themselves look good in the eyes of their superiors. So because my only family is a couple hours away and I was in an emergency, they are literally trying to ruin my life... I would strongly recommend not using this corrupted, money oriented medical establishment.

In 2020 I had an accident and severed an artery in my calf. Fortunately I was at my mom's house in Carson city, so we were able to drive to the emergency room where I received life saving care from the excellent nursing staff and doctor in the ER.I was so lucky to be able to go to this hospital. I know that without Doctor Beal and the awesome nurses that day, I'd be dead. I lost three units of blood and had extensive nerve damage to my leg. I can now walk without a cane and you would never see the scar. I'm grateful every day that I was fortunate enough to be near the best hospital in the area at the worst time.

My husband arrived via ambulance to the hospital. The care was amazing. He was taken right in, tests were run, and his condition and upcoming procedures were explained to us. He was admitted . The staff on the 3rd floor were kind, responsive and skilled. It was one of best hospital experiences we have had .

Hands down the worse hospital. If you want to live or not get more sick DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. The nurses have no compassion the Dr's like there fashion more than there patients. They gave my mother the wring medication. She had a horrible allergic reaction. My mother also had 2 strokes while in the hospital minor strokes but left her not able to see now. She had heart surgery and discharged her 3 days later. I brought up her vision. Repeatedly and the kept blowing it off. I also felt I was watching Grey's Anotomy while watch these Dr's and nurses treat my mother. Just a joke of a hospital.

Labor and delivery services were phenomenal! Every nurse, tech, doctor and consultant were attentive and compassionate. The L&D nurses and Doctor Torres were very supportive of my decision to go natural and made it possible helping with different pain management techniques. It was the best VBAC I have ever experienced. Highly recommend their labor and delivery services!

I'm not one to put a bad review, but however I wish I could put 0 stars on this place. I will NEVER and I mean NEVER go to CTH again! I don't care what the circumstances are.... In the last 8 years (from my first child) they have went downhill quick in labor and delivery! Go in at 8am telling them my water broke, they do a swab. To be told oh no its just discharge. Okay so go home and ended up coming back around5:00pm that same day. Oh we are going to run 2 different tests. They come back in about 5:30pm and said oh one came back positive for amniotic fluid so we are going to keep you. Okay well then we get admitted at 5:45pm get the pitocin started. Stuck dilated to a 4cm. So the on-call Dr which was Dr Morales from CMG, Never came in my room to even check me whatsoever!!! My husband was in there with me and all the nurses piled in freaking out due to the fact they almost lost my unborn son and myself with my blood pressure dropping to death levels. My husband asked what was going on and no one answered his questions until after the fact. "Oh its normal". Next morning, Dr Hess came in and checked me, and I was still stuck at 4cm. Come to find out the rest of my sac never ruptured amd low and behold, guess what!? Our son was welcomed into this world 2 hours later at 10:57am. Thank you so much Dr Hess for everything!!!!! Will NEVER come back here!

The CNAs my grandfather had on the 3rd floor on medical oncology were just the worst. They ignored his calls all day, did not bathe him for days on end saying he refused despite both of us asking for him to have a shower. The CNAs were rude and completely disrespectful and inconsiderate especially the pregnant one that would answer the call light in a completely rude manner. Go to any other floor but the third floor.

Don’t attend this hospital if you’ve ever suffered a drug addiction. They severely judged my brother, refused to bathe him daily, and refused to allow him to go outside when he was dying from cancer. Just, don’t be a nurse if you lack empathy for others.
