This south Carson Branch is my main go to branch for banking services. They have safety deposit boxes here as well. On line banking works well, but sometimes you just gotta go to the bank in person, like when someone writes you a check instead of using the Zelle features of online money transfer to individuals.You know what I like about Nevada State Bank? They have more than one location in town and they have friendly tellers and there no waiting! Try that at Bank of America with just one branch in town that has long ass lines all the time! These people recognize me when I come in and know me by name. I cash checks, make deposits with out filling out the deposit slip (they gladly do that for me). I see this as banking local and it shows in the service level.

If you like to do your banking in person, Nevada State Bank is a great bank. The folks in the branch are very nice. However, if you prefer electronic banking, this is not the place for you. They have hidden the account numbers online and in the statement so you can't access your account numbers. The ATMs are the strangest things I've ever seen where it lets you get in and start transactions with an invalid PIN and then tells you it's an invalid PIN when you attempt to complete. On top of that, they don't track those, they only monitor withdrawals for invalid PINs so you aren't going to get any help trying to figure it out. If you want to change your PIN, you have to go to their ATM or to the bank. If you call in, you have to have your Driver's License and ATM cards to validate your identity. Most places have code words and basic info so you don't have to track down your documents every time you need help. This could be a great bank but they need to move into the 21st century.

Stopped into use their notary services which I heard were by walk ins. I was helped immediately with zero wait. I was met by the most kind woman who took me into her office and professionally gave me advice and signed my documents. At the end, when we were wrapping up our session, I asked how much I owed her and she said nothing! She provided me her services completley free. This was so appreciated since every other notary in Carson City charges $15 per signature. This would have cost me near $100 for my visit today. I love Nevada State Bank.

So we moved out of the area and when I came back to the area I finally managed to make it into the bank during their operating hours. We had an account for my minor child here and I wanted to close it out. Hadn't received a statement in quite some time. They claim she's overdrawn $.24 and that the last ATM withdraw out their branch location through the ATM machine was for $42.75. Have you ever heard of an ATM machine that can dispense $.75? I told them I believed it was a fraudulent withdrawal and then they charged her $ 2.50 for an overdraft fee. I paid them the $.24, told him to permanently close the account, and that I would be filing complaints of fraudulent charges against a minor child. I would never bank at this bank they are so disorganized. When you deposit a check, the balance does not go into your account until the day after you deposit the check. So many things they do are so wrong. Avoid this bank at all cost.

Needed to exchange cash for pennies for my sons summer school project. The bank manager wouldnt let go of even a single roll of pennies (50 pennies) Dont bank here... awful customer service

Been a part of Nevada State Bank since 2011 in Vegas, transfer to Reno and then to Carson City. Bank is in great locations and the staff goes out of there way to make me feel like family and one of them. The fees are very much in line with others and NSB is a one of a kind bank that seems to be for the real Nevadian, in fact if your a real Nevada born or long time Nevadian, they bank here. This bank is very into the community and special event all over the state. If you want to be proud of your state, be a part of Nevada State Bank!!!

Unfortunately I have had to go into this branch to cash checks and every time there will be one person being helped in front of me with no other costumers in line & at least 6 girls behind the counter and I've waited a minimum of 10 to 12 minutes to be waited on it should not take 30 minutes to cash a check.....And they ask if I want to open a account you've got to be kidding.
