I came here with my wife and kids for our first camping trip, and one of the rangers stopped by and gave my son a goody bag that was color coded to his shirt. It was definitely a really sweet act of kindness. Will definitely come back here again. Good view to the road and the mountainside

Elk Flat was great! Beautiful views, potable water, dump station, clean bathrooms, some shade, fairly private sites, and close to Cave Lake. The Cave Lake Overlook trail was a really fun family hike, but go early - we went too late and the trail was hot on our dogs' feet (from the Northeast - rookie move).
